They are series x servers ao bc compatibility is limited to Xbox one and some 260 games on xcloud

So according to your post, your friend is in the US, and you seemingly bought an US code.

Is your own account US-based?

If you and your friend are both in the US with US accounts, it should work. So I'd suggest you and your friend both contact the official support via
