AquarrzSudnnym's idea first is also quite good. Have you checked if it is very dusty / the holes are filled with dust or pet hair? Clean
that out for airflow is a great suggestion. Definitely shut it down and unplug it first.

Electronics don't like dust or heat (or water of course), and tend to go funny if over heated for too long.

Yes I tried on a different tv it was the same. Ok I will try the factory reset I was trying to avoid this as will lose all my data but think I will have to. Thank you.

Any sort of hardware, even the best quality, can fail at any time.

And have you tried a Factory Defaults Reset? You will lose **Everything** on your console, but it will give you the best baseline to know if you need to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance and possible repair.

My console did the same after our power went off unexpectedly

Once it booted up, green lines were at the top of the screen

I pressed and held the power button until the console turned off

I then waited for the controller to switch off. I then switched the console on with the controller

The console booted up without the green lines this time

Hi thanks for reply, yes I have lowered the resolution from 1080 to 720 and it seemed to help for a while but now it can barely load up. Its flashing every time now.
