Xbox one s fan question

i was just curious if my xbox one s is suppose to sound like small airplane is running in my living room. the fan is crazy loud and it is difficult to watch movies or play games with out my head phones on as the fan is just so loud. i was wondering if this
was normal or if there is a setting somewhere to quiet the system down some. thank you.

hey guys is it Normal for the Xbox One S to have a noisy fan because my Xbox One S has the noisy fan and I don't know if this is normal or not

Thanks for posting. Has there been any performance issues that have occurred in correlation to the fan noise? If the fan kicks in while idle, that mainly indicates that your Xbox One S could be in the process of applying any pending updates.

One thing we can try out is fully powering down your Xbox One S console by holding the power button, remove power from the back, and let it sit for 5 minutes before plugging everything back in. Aside from that, my main recommendation is to keep an eye on
the behavior of the Xbox One S. If you notice that the fan noise becomes more and more audible as time goes on, or performance related issues start popping up, your Xbox One console may need to be repaired.

The fan is supposed to be whisper quiet like the original Xbox One, if it's unusually loud I suggest getting the console replaced.

Shouldn't be that loud, but it isn't whisper quiet like the original Xbox One. Not surprising with the power supply inside it now.

According to the clip you recorded, it seems like the sound is very low. I even had to turn the volume up to the maximum using headphones to perceive it properly. If you can only hear it by getting very close to the console fan, then it's something normal, and you shouldn't worry. If the sound increases over time or if it becomes noticeable at a normal distance from the console, then it would be advisable to apply the warranty.

Thank you for bringing this question to our attention.

This is a well know question that many users who own the Xbox one X have.

The fan usually makes noises when it is trying to run the operating system to run programs and Graphics.

With so many components, and with a system more powerful than Xbox One S, there’s sure to be a lot of heat moving through the chassis that needs to be exhausted.
