Xbox one s fan noise

Decided to ring game helpline this morning about the fan going non stop and being quite loud and they were pretty helpful and admitted ot didn't sound right and advised I return it to the store and get them to start it up and have a listen and then probably
exchange it.

The guys in store fired it up and said it wasn't right but unfortunately they had no stock to replace it with so I could either carry on with it until a replacement came in or I could have a refund. I took the refund and then phoned around other local game
stores and eventually the one in Ashford came up trumps and said a pre order hadn't been collected and I could have that one ! ( Extremely helpful guys down there )

Anyway got it home, set it up and bingo its as quiet as a mouse. I can just about hear the fan if I put my ear over it, so it does seem that those unfortunate to have the loud fan have got faulty xbox one s's.

 

Digital Foundry picked up on this, though the noise coming from your console could be due to something altogether different.

Decided to check up on this one and sadly, I think I'll be returning it to see if they can fix it as well. It's really noticeable during quiet periods. As GAME are apparently completely sold out so my only option is to RMA it. Will see what happens!

 

I am waiting on the Gears of War Xbox One S and i hope its not got any fan problems as there going to be very hard to get...

 

Got my box back and, yeah, it's like night and day sound wise so far. Heed the warning! If your XBO-S fan is noisy, RMA that thing sharpish, it ain't right.

 

The transformer fan on the original also never stop (unless you choose full shut down, but not quick start mode ). Since the XB1S now has internal transformer, I think we can safely assume the internal fan will never stop.

 

The S model sure does look nice but i did see a video on youtube where someone did a noise comparison against the original X1 and the original was quieter,put me off getting one to be honest as it really is *** gorgeous to look at ;-)

 

My second Xbox one s and the noise is doing my head in it's a loud fan and buzzing is this just me or is this meant to be making this noise

 

Im on my 3rd one s. The first had a rattle from psu when switched off and the other 2 have this fan rattle. Im fed up taking them back and dont want to wait for microsoft to repair a brand new console so thinking of getting a refund instead.

 

Picked up my One S at the weekend so I've returned to the Xbox World.

No noticeable fan noise but it did annoy me i have to fork out for a stand to have it sitting horizontal as other wise it blocks the fan on the side of the unit.

Other than that its very nice and so much smaller than the original - Very impressed

 

Even ive got the same prob and its pissing me of ever since i got it....dont know what to do about it.

 

I thought I was imaging it, but no there is a definite ticking crispy fan spin coming from my new xbox one S - I am really fracking annoying at microsoft. There are always problems with their products these days. Cheaply made, not tested...and something
people fail to realise is that it is all on purpose !

There is a booming economy in repairing and supporting Microsoft products ... what a sick capitalist pig of a world we live in.. all at the expense of the consumers patience !
