    Xbox one s Factory Reset

So I've been having trouble with my Xbox one S , it's been real sluggish , the Xbox doesn't boot with the green screen just black, takes about 10 - 15 minutes to load , when it does everything is extremely sluggish.

Because of this I decided to do a Factory Reset keeping apps and Games in hopes of correcting the issues, well I've been on a all White Screen with the words "Preparing Console" for about 30 minutes , not sure what to do from here?

    :)

    Factory reset Xbox one s

Hello, how are you? My name is Mateus. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

First, welcome to the Xbox community.

I understand your concern but when doing the procedure of resetting the console to factory defaults, you can choose to keep your games and applications, as your progress will be maintained, as long as it is saved in the cloud which is meant to be, as the system does direct upload to Microsoft servers.

If you don't know how to do a factory reset, follow the instructions below.

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:

Select to keep your games and apps so they won't be deleted, make sure you know your email and password as they will be removed from the console, and you'll need to add them again.

*Thank you in advance for contacting us, it is always a pleasure to help the community.

    Factory reset xbox one s

You can do it through these methods:

    1. press and hold the power button for about 7 seconds

    2. press and hold the synch button on the left hand side of the console, at the same time as holding the eject button on the front of the console

    3. Whilst holding those two buttons, tap the power button (you'll hear one power up tone)

    4. keep holding the two buttons until you hear second power up tone

    5. you'll hear a "bleep" kind of sound, then let go of the buttons

it should boot directly into factory reset screen.

    Good luck!

    Xbox one s Factory Reset

My Xbox one s is extremely slow and doesn’t like to load any of my games. I can get on Netflix and all my apps but no games and I have tried resetting in every way and I have even kept it unplugged in case it was too hot. It’s been like this all of a sudden and for about 3 weeks. I don’t know how to fix it, any ideas?

The console is still on "preparing console" screen?

Before factory resetting the console, basically everything was working slower?

Please try power cycling your console if that does the trick:

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

In case the issue persists, the next step to isolate even more the issue is perform an offline update for your console
In that way Xbox system will be updated from scratch.

For this you need a USB and PC to format it and transfer files provided in the link below (with steps):

I'll be waiting for your reply, greetings from another Microsoft user
