    Xbox One S external hard drive problem


    I have a 4TB Xbox Seagate external hard drive and the other day when I turned my xbox on and went to play a digitally downloaded game it wasn’t showing it in the “My Games” tab. In fact it wasn’t showing any of my games on the external hard drive or on
    the xbox’s internal drive. It said that storage on the external hard drive was taken up but it was not showing any of the games on it. It only started showing my games after I logged online. Is there a way to fix this so I can stay offline and still have the
    games shown on the hard drive?

    I literally just bought the Xbox one s and was having the same troubles. After some digging on google I came across a reddit forum and they suggested to unplug the external hard drive and it it worked! So if you have an external hard drive plugged in that
    may be the problem, apparently it’s a bug.

    Do you still have your Xbox One and does your external hard drive still work on that console?

    I have successfully connected both my Seagate 'Game Drive' and my external SSD USB 3.0 drives to my Series S without any problems. All my installed games show up fine.

    The Series X/S supports the same external drives as the Xbox One/S/X support. If your drive isn't being detected it's probably become corrupted or has a hardware issue.

    Yes, you can play Xbox One games on your Series S from an external hard drive without causing problems. Just make sure the drive is a USB 3.0 hard drive with a minimum capacity of 128 GB, you can go up to 16 TB if you wish. You can also connect up to 3 external hard drives to your console as well.
