Hello Duane, I don't know how long your Xbox One S has been in its way, but depending on how long it may be slow cause of dirt inside it (dust), this consequently compromises the cooling of the console.

If you've tried both types of factory reset, keeping games and Apps and erasing everything, and it's still slow and slow to start and slow to navigate menus, it may need an internal cleanup.

I agree everything seem painfully slow. I am however on a highspeed connection. For a bran new system this just seems painfull I hope this is just a first time thing and gets better with time.

Don't forget, the Xbox is an all-in-one entertainment console that does many things at once. It's possible it can get hung up closing apps and will cause the console to slow down. Now, this is purely speculation...and I'm not trying to justify the slowness,
I'm just trying to rationalize the possibility. Anyway, I'm hoping that this gets fixed.

The problem I'm having with my console is as soon as something is downloaded from the queue, there is like 5-10 seconds where my cursor won't move and the interface freezes up.
