    Xbox one S does NOT work for UHD


    loaded up the blu ray player. doesn't work. UHD disc doesn't work. Blu ray disc doesn't work. way to go MS. I bought your xbox one s, and it's worthless now. going to take it back in the morning

    Total system crash on Xbox One S while running a UHD 4K BluRay & no ATMOS or DTS X.

    Dead pool UHD 4k disc does not play on the xbox one s. Goes back to home screen.

    In my opinion, no, don't bother. Its smaller and whiter than your current Xbox One, and might have more storage. You can fix that 3rd point with an external HDD or SSD and the first two points don't really mean anything. The Xbox One S does support UHD or
    4K output though so if you have a UHD TV and want to watch UHD movies you might want to consider it.

    Both the Xbox One and the One S can play all the same games though so you'll be able to play with all your friends.

    Did you install the app? Also depending on what tv you have, you may have to adjust settings.

    My friends UHD 4K works fine.

    Like above, have you gone into the console settings and checked 4K/HDR is enabled?

    Also check your TV settings. When I recently got my new Samsung I had to go into settings and enable HDR etc

    4k issues

    Things are still in a state of change in the land of 4K UHD and haven't quite settled out yet. Part of this may have to do with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and trying to lock things down when it comes to all this 4K digital plumbing. Not only is it the
    hardware, like needing to use HDMI 2.X cable. But, it's also the software. Does the firmware in the monitor/TV support the 4K UHD (HDCP 2.2)
    content coming from the attached device ("Checking your TV's 4K and HDR capabilities on Xbox One S")? Yes, the Samsung U28E590D
    can do 4K UHD, but does it support HDR10? HDR10 support seems to be a very important threshold when comes to connecting the Xbox One S to 4K UHD TVs. The current crop of 4K UHD monitors seems to be more directed to PC gamers. While, the Xbox One S is geared
    more toward lager format TVs. I'm sure that this is not the only list, but Windows Central has what it calls "Best 4K HDR TVs For Xbox One S".

    Still having problems with Xbox One S Blu Ray app not playing 4K Blu Rays

    Well Universal is sending me out a replacement Lucy disc. If this does not fix the issue then I want a full refund for the Xbox one S so I can purchase a real UHD player.
