Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it

Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz for games & apps in the Advanced video settings, even though I have a TV (LG OLED65B6P) that supports this mode. Xbox one S says that my TV supports 60Hz at 10-bit HDR but does not allow me to select 60Hz. It allows 4K, HDR,
and 24Hz. My TV does not support 50Hz, bit it does allow 60Hz.

    :)

Bought XBox One S for 4k - 4k not working.

I don't believe the XBOX One S supports 30Hz at 3840X2160. My 4k doesn't support 60Hz but does support 50Hz, 30Hz, and 24Hz and I can't get anything on the XBOX One to work in 4k, including setting the TV Resolution. YouTube will not offer the option to
play in 4k and Media Player provides a green screen when playing a 4k MP4. There is no 30Hz option that I see in the Advanced Video Settings.

4K TV & Xbox One S will not upscale. Help.

My new Xbox One S came today and one thing I was most looking forward to was playing my Muse concert Blu Ray in 4K.

My TV is a Philips 4K 6800 series that supports 4K UHD at up to 30Hz.

I had an error to start with but resolved that by changing my video output to 24Hz. Anyway finally got the 4K disc playing and it was displaying in 1080i @29Hz. Why?

I currently have my Video settings at: Allow 24hz and Allow 4K, but on the TV Resolution drop down when I select 4K UHD it says "That didn't work because you're TV supports 4K but does not support it at 60Hz. Erm yes I know it doesn't support 60Hz? So why
    can't I run everything at 24-30Hz?

Seriously Microsoft the main reason I bought this was to use the 4K player. What's the deal man? I'm hoping this will be resolved over an update since I'm not exactly using a high spec Sony or Samsung tv. But it should still be supported!!!

Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it

    Hey Ramin8or -

So the different HDMI ports on the TV sometimes support different things. Can you try a different HDMI port to see if that helps? Each TV's designated HDR port is different so it may be HDMI 1 or HDMI 5. And sometimes it's HDMI 2 because why not. Double
check your manual to be sure you're using the HDMI port that supports HDR and that you're using an HDMI cable that supports it as well (the cable provided with the Xbox One S console is a good choice). If all that is up to snuff and you continue to experience
issues, can you provide us with screenshots of your Advanced Video Settings and your 4k settings please? You can use any image hosting site to host the image and then upload them to your post here.

Keep us posted! Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it :)

Thank you for your reply Miss Bijoux. I am using HDMI 2 and specifically set it up to support HDR. My Xbox One S does show in 4K TV details that my TV supports 4K 10-bit at 60Hz. However, it does not allow me to select 60Hz. It's stuck at "Allow 24Hz". Please
    see the two screen shots:

    1. from my "Advanced Video Settings" where "Allow 50Hz" is grayed out and there is no "Allow 60Hz".

    2. 4K TV details where it shows my TV support 4K 10-bit at 60Hz.

Here's the folder with the two screen shots: XboxOneS

Please let me know if you need additional information/

    Thanks!

Thanks for that info, Ramin8or. Have you already taken a look at the >>4K and HDR troubleshooting guide<<
yet? If not, please take a peek at that and follow all the steps provided and see if that helps at all. Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it :)

Yes I followed all the steps, but nothing works. I'm stuck at 24Hz and Xbox One S does not "Allow 60Hz" even though it says my 4K HDR TV is capable of replaying at 60Hz. Is there a bug already on this issue? If not how can I log a bug so it gets fixed in
    the future? Thanks!

Thanks for following up. So, everything I can see seems to indicate that you are correct and that your TV
should be able to accommodate the settings. Couple other things that come to mind are:

*Making sure that your TV's firmware is totally updated

*Trying HDMI ports 1 and 5

*Making sure that your HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color is set to "On"

If none of that works, can you provide us with EVERY video setting on your TV and what you currently have it set to so we can comb through and see if we can figure out what's going on?

Thank you for your patience, it's much appreciated. Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it :)

Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it

    1. I have an LG OLED65b6p TV and made sure it is up to date with the latest updates (version 04.30.40)

    2. I am using HDMI 2 which is directly connected to my Xbox One S. I have set up HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color to "On" for HDMI 2. I have tried other HDMI ports as well with the same results.

    3. HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color is set to "On" on HDMI 2 as I mentioned earlier.

Could you be more specific about what you mean by EVERY video setting on your TV? I have the default set plus I have turned on HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color. In the pictures that I shared:
https://1drv.ms/f/s!Aqnl6ezFuZdigeAcQwRp02Dl5dFDzA you can clearly see the following 4K TV details:

TV resolution: 4K UHD (60Hz), Movies and TV: your TV supports 4K 10-bit at 60Hz and HDR video.

One thing to note: My TV does NOT support 4K at 50Hz even though it supports 60Hz. I wonder if Xbox One S assumes that since the TV doesn't support 50Hz it disables 60Hz as well. Could that be the bug that keeps the setting stuck at 24Hz?

    Thanks

    Ramin

Okay, gotcha! Thanks for all the extra info and your patience. Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it :)

So, the difference between 50hz and 60hz is mostly dependent on where in the world you are located, literally. The US tends to use 60hz while places such as Europe use 50hz. If your TV is an American model, the fact that it will not utilize 50hz is a total
non-issue unless you are planning an overseas move sometime. >>This is a good overview of 50/60hz.<< Knowing that, that
means that your TV is automatically working at 60hz from the get-go and you would only want to select 50hz if your TV supported both and you were in a region where 60hz was not supportable.

Now, if your TV supports 4K upscaling, the ideal setup is to have your TV do the upscaling work vs the Xbox One S console. If you set your console resolution to 1080p, the TV should take that and then upscale it on its own. When you're looking at your video/display
settings on your console, those boxes you're checking off are for native content to pass through. Since your TV doesn't support 50hz, that is why you cannot select that as it won't be able to pass through natively.

Hopefully that helps clarify a bit. If that doesn't and you still have questions, please post back and we'll work through it. Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it :)

I want to use the Xbox One S as my DVD player, to play 4K Ultra HD HDR blu ray DVDs. I can do that now, however, these DVDs are playing back at 24Hz instead of the 60Hz that my TV supports. I don't want the TV to do any upscaling, I want the Xbox One S DVD player
to play my DVDs at the highest quality. But because of a bug, Xbox One S does NOT allow me to play movies/dvds at 60Hz. How can I fix that given that all my TV settings are correct?

    Thanks
