Xbox One S Display Broken and Distorted

I left my Xbox One S downloading a game and when I came back 30 minutes later it was what you see in the picture. I've restarted it, unplugged everything, changed HDMIs and Inputs but it hasn't changed.

Notes:

I had put the Darksiders 2 disc in (360 version) and it said it had to install an 8gb update, which I thought meant it had to install the game.

I had a flashdrive plugged in to try to move my 360 save file over.

Cannot use 1080p in display settings even though my TV is 1080p

I have the exact same problem! I used to display my xbox 360 in 1080p just fine and now with the new xbox only letting me display in 720.. Why i have no idea? Do you know now? Also i have display issues wheb i play a blu ray the picture is distorted and
delayed and if i fast forward the actors voices are silent an can just hear background noise... Not impressed

Star trek shattered universe backward compatiblity

This game is playable on xbox 360, despite being made for the xbox original. I tried playing it but the screen is distorted and colours are broken. the screen also cuts the menu in half. How is this fixed?

UPDATE: I left it alone for the day and the next day it is working fine.

Sorry to hear about the display issue, but glad to hear it's fixed. I just want to mention that it's not possible to move save files from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One using a USB drive. You'll need to move the save files into the cloud on Xbox 360. Then
when you try to play the game on Xbox One through Backward compatibility, they will automatically download for you.

It could be the GPU or possibly the connection, but I'd sooner say the GPU.

You may be able to claim warranty or send it into for repair.

Do you have the Xbox One X plugged into a surge protector? Issues like this have been known to be caused by power outages while plugged into a third party surge protector. The Xbox's power supply has a built in surge protector but having it plugged into
another can reduce the effectiveness of the surge protector and cause a malfunction in the software in the event of power complications in your area.

Next thing to do is try another TV with the same cable, and eventually you may need to get another high speed 4K capable HDMI cable and try it on the TV having issues. This will help with isolating the issue to either the console or cable since you said
the TV works fine not using the Xbox.

Since half of your screen is still visible, you may be able to try a
soft factory reset just to see if resetting the operating system will have any effect. If you're able to isolate the issue to the console, then you will need to register and set it up for a repair as suggested by LtLogicon. Here is the repair link to help
