Xbox One S Disc not bing read

I brought my xbox one s just over a month ago and love it,However ive just noticed that when i put a disc in whilst its booting up or just not loaded into home screen my disc will not be read and then i have to eject and re-eject it to make it go. I also
would like to know if theres signs to know if my disc is being scatched,I do see slight circle lines near the centre of disc and very tiny chips on centre.I cant tell if it was from before or after using this new xbox. T.i.a

Hey there!

Is it just one disc that you're experiencing issues with, or has this occurred on multiple discs? It is possible the disc could be damaged if you see a ring scratch around the disc and chipping towards the center, but the best way to determine that is if
the disc does work. Since you own an Xbox One S console, it's important that the console remains stationary if it is standing vertically and does not move. Additionally, I would be sure to allow the Xbox One to fully power on before inserting a game disc
to avoid the issue described.

First off thankyou for your reply!

I have 3 discs two of which are near new,all of them have this very light circle scratch near the centre of the disc ( one scratch dips inward ) and then just some minor chipping to centre plastic bit,The discs still go good though but if I do try put it
while its booting up it will give error message which it never happened on my original Xbox one console.My console is always laying down horizontally and have never tried standing it up vertically.

Xbox One discs are Dual Layer BD-ROM discs 50 GB, which is pretty much standard now. In addition, the One S and the One X can also read UHD Blu-ray feature film discs. Neither the One S or One X can read BDXL discs, I don't know enough about the hardware
to say for sure if this is due to a hardware or software issue. Note that despite the similar storage capabilities, UHD Movie Blu-ray discs are factory pressed, while BDXL is a writable format largely for burning discs with a PC.

Despite the One S and the One X's ability to read UHD discs, they will not be used for Game media.

I have had two oxbox one originals both have had issues reading discs we also have a xbox s that has never had any issues reading disc

Depends on the read speed of the Blu-ray drive. I did some research on Wikipedia and PS4's Blu-ray drive and found this...

M hasn't released officially any specific info of the read speed for Xbox One of it's Blu-ray drive. Maybe it will also depend on the read speed of Xbox One's HDD? Whether it will be a 5400rpm or 7200rpm. I think both digital and disc should be around the
same for loading times, since games from disc have to be installed for Xbox One just like digital downloads will also be installed onto the HDD.
