Xbox one S digital edition update frozen on ‘Verifying (0%)’

My Xbox One S digital edition had required an update a few days ago which I attempted to install however upon getting to Step 2/3, Verification, it became stuck for about 3 hours until I decided to turn it off and try another day. Sure enough when I next tried to update it started and upon getting to the Verification stage it froze again for about 2 hours, no error message, just sitting there doing nothing. I attempted a soft reset by holding the power putting down until fully off and turning on again, unplugging the power cord for an hour and trying again, and then resorted to resetting my Xbox completely. Yet this did nothing and the update is still stuck at Verifying for hours and hours not even going up 1%. No error message to implicate what may be wrong and I’m getting increasingly frustrated. Any help would be amazing.

To use the Offline System Update, you'll need:

A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port

A USB flash drive with a minimum 6 GB of space formatted as NTFS

And yes there is a difference in troubleshooting steps

One is digital unless you got the digital edition xbox one s and one is disk
