    Xbox One S Device Control

I recently moved my TV and Xbox One S to a different location in my house, and now the device control functions no longer work. I've tried all the functions (toggle, on/off), resets, various settings configurations. At one point, I unplugged everything
from every port, both xbox and TV, and when I got everything plugged back in and started up, it worked. However, my external hard drive got unplugged and then the function stopped working. I've tried all the same steps I went through before but I can't yet
replicate the positive results. Xbox customer service seems to barely even know what the device control function is and several techs were unable to assist me with this problem. Has anyone experienced this, and maybe found any solutions? Any suggestions? Thanks

    :)

Update to Xbox One Changed Device Control, Cannot Control Xbox 360 S

Update to Xbox One Changed Device Control/Remote Codes, Cannot Control Xbox 360 S with Device Control anymore.

I have an unusual problem regarding the way Xbox One now handles device control. Since I've owned my console from Day One, I have had my Xbox 360 S plugged into the
HDMI In plug on the back of my Xbox One (I'm aware it's not the input's intended purpose, but it works for me). I discovered when setting up TV/OneGuide that I could use the Device Control function on the Xbox One to turn on and turn off my
Xbox 360. I did this by selecting the Cable and satellite drop down and selecting "Xbox" for my device model from the follow up menu.

In the last week or so, I attempted to re-set up my device control with the improved guided walkthrough feature, and when I went to enter "Xbox" as my device for my Cable or satellite box option. It failed to work the first try and on the second attempt
screen it sent out an IR blast that turned off the Xbox One, rather than the Xbox 360.

I later learned that in one of the recent updates either from December or November, the list of devices to be controlled with Xbox One Device Control had been expanded to include several "models" of Xbox, and even specifies multiple "XBOX360" options (About
6 options, and more when "Microsoft" is entered instead of "Xbox"). I have tested all of these options and none of them are recognized by my Xbox 360 S. What was included in the update that took away this feature? Is there a step I'm missing? What possible
purpose could anyone have for this feature now that the console turns it self off with it's own remote code? Even if the console made it through the set up process, it would turn itself off every time someone attempts to turn it on. If the Xbox 360 was not
intended to be controlled by the IR signal on the Xbox One then why are there MORE listings instead of the SINGLE one prior to the update? Is there a manual remote code I can enter to control my Xbox 360 S as I have in the past? My setup has not changed since
    I've owned both consoles.

Does anyone else use their Xbox 360 in conjunction with their Xbox One console and are you encountering a similar problem?

  3. Xbox One & Device Control

Thanks Expert, but I didn't want the Kinect. I'm just wondering if I can still turn on/off all devices without it because when I turn my console on/off the devices don't do anything and I have to turn them on/off separately.

  4. Xbox One S Device Control

First thing to check is to make sure that in the new location the IR blaster on the Xbox One S, located on the bottom right of the box right below the big Xbox button on the console, isn't blocked, as well as the IR sensor on the TV.

    Compatible Steering Wheel

If it's compatible with Xbox One, it should work with the entire family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X). What error message do you get when you attempt to connect the device to the One S? Is it simply not seeing the controller?

The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

    Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

How to connect a controller to mobile android

yes you can connect an Xbox One S/X controller to an android device as long as the android device supports controllers. I know you can do this as I have connected mine to my android device (Amazon fire 10), and it works well. All you have to do is turn
on bluetooth on your device, and go in bluetooth settings and select scan for new device, then with the xbox one s controller, turn it on, and press and hold the sync button until the light on the controller flashes quickly. Your device should find the controller
    and pair them together.

The newer xbox one s controllers have bluetooth. have you connected the it to windows 10 device. If your controller is the newer model it could be connecting to the other device.
