Xbox One S Crashing HDD Games

My nephew has asked for help with his Xbox One S.

After going through different tests I have found:

- The Xbox One S runs disc games without any issues

- The Xbox One S crashes any digital game that is downloaded to the internal or external HDD after around 1-3 minutes of the game time

- I have installed a new HDD and the issue remains

- I have deleted & reinstalled the games and the issues remain

- I have completed a factory reset & offline system update and the issue remains

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn’t know what an electric stabilizer is sorry.

Another thing I have tried is changing the internal power brick but the issue remains.

And yes, games crash and boot back to the dashboard if I have the external HDD in or not.

I am baffled as to why the disk games work but digital ones don’t. Could there be an issue with the motherboard and it’s connections via the HDDs to the CPU?

Hello again, no worries, electrical stabilizers are the equipment where we can connect the appliances so that it is protected from electrical discharges as APC equipment.

However you mention that you opened the console and tried to change the internal power brick, ideally taking your console to a technical assistance so that they can make a correct diagnosis on your console.

It is likely that a secure data area has been corrupted or become damaged.

If the next system update doesn’t cure it, the console would have to be serviced, as it’s not something the end user can fix.

Hello CIGWAH, this is really weird, if it runs disk games normally, it should run the digital games without any problems.

is your console connected to some kind of electric stabilizer?

You tried to plug your console into another TV and also in another outlet of your home, sometimes for some reason the console may not be getting enough power and cause these bugs.

Another important thing, have you tried to run some digital game without having the external HD plugged into xbox one?
