    XBOX One S - Controllers keep disconnecting & kicking me out of a game


    My XBOX One S was just set up in December. It was a great update from my older XBOX One. Though, starting a few days after I set it up, my controller started randomly disconnecting. When it happened, I was kicked offline and out of the game (back to the
    Home screen). It's not specific to one game or even one controller. I have another controller that I've tested so many times and it's random as well.

    My internet / wi-fi connection is excellent. There is a direct line of sight to my device and I sit rather close to it. I've tried cycling the machine and re-connecting the controllers dozens of times. I have made sure there were no firmware updates for
    each one. Do I just need to send the console in for repair? Is there something I'm missing?

    Thanks for the reply! I recommend trying a
    power cycle
    of the console
    (Disconnect and reconnect your console's power cable).

    If the problem persists, try doing a
    soft factory reset of the console,
    Reset and keep games and apps to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

    Try this out and let us know the results.

    Do you see any error message on screen when this happens?

    In what games are you facing this issue? And it is at an specific point or when you try to open the game?

    Also, do you have your account in another console? If so, it is possible that the other person is trying to login at the same time as you.

    Hey fifa legend6433.

    I know how frustrating this can be. My friend used to have the same issue, he would get kicked out of some games and not others. I do believe this may be an issue with how you connect to the internet. It could be a router or firewall settings on a router.
    I would check which router you have and look up online ways to get that optimised for Xbox Live.

    The issue is most likely not your Xbox itself.
