That's a feature to save battery life if you do not interact with your controller it will turn itself off plug it in or use a wired controller to work around this or invest in wireless headphones

Have You Tried Any using any other controllers? And/or does it only turn off every while the headset is Plugged in to your controller?

Unfortunately there is not a way to change the time out on the controller. It is set up this way to conserve battery life. Only suggestion I could give is to use a charge and play to eliminate the need for replaceable batteries and occasionally move one
of the sticks to keep it active. Disabling the vibration feature can be another useful option to extend power life. I am no stranger to the controller shutting off during non game use but I just move a stick and it never shuts itself off. Hope this helps.

im doing the sim racing while using the petals ,steering wheel, shifter,the only way I can use the headphones is plug them in the xbox hand game controller well they most be on some tye of timer when not being used. It shuts off after about 15min.I can
turn it back on works for about 15 min again.So there most be a timer on the hand game controllers wonder if there is a way to turn off.just got xbox one s new at this :0)

they are the same as the standard xbox one s controllers, so with pc you can use via bluetooth(audio through headphone jack not supported)

or wired(supports audio via headphone jack)
