Xbox One S Controller - Play & Charge Kit Issue?

Hi

Just got my new Xbox One S today, and it's great.

But, when I use the Play & Charge Kit with the new controller, the LED on the cable doesn't light up to notify you of the charge status? Works fine on my older controllers, so it's not the cable or battery.

(It's the official Play & Charge Kit, and I've also updated the controller firmware to the latest version)

Is this something that will be patched eventually, or is it a faulty controller?

Controller becoming unresponsive

Same here, the same problem even with full charge. I tried with stylus batteries and also with the play&charge kit, using the Xbox One X black controller included with the console and also an Xbox One S controller (the white one with Bluetooth and audio
jack).

 

Also, just noticed the charge icon on the console home screen doesn't show any progress.

It usually shows a charging animation.

The controller is not faulty, some of the other users are having problems with this. I think it is not your new console but it might be because of the new update. This update is making some people become outraged of this issue. Sad to say that an update
will make so many things glitchy. Updates are supposed to fix things. The update should have a bugfix glitch patch in the next few days.

 

Yes it's not just you as I'm looking right now at my screen and the plug and it's doing the same thing you just described. It's definitely not you.

My new slim console isn't back in preview yet, so I hadn't factored in any bugs with the new August update.

I'm using the first gen xbox one 1tb console and I too am having the same issue, I had to power cycle my console just to get it to register that I've actually plugged the ruddy cable into the controller.

seems to work with the least issues when I plug it in whilst the system is off, whereupon it actually DOES charge and no my system isnt in 'fast startup' mode.

 

I'm also having the same issue. Is it too much to ask to have this "bug" fixed ASAP?

 

One would think Microsoft is aware of this and with the newest bug fix-update...well, they didn't fix this problem. Or any other problems that I can see. That August-update really messed up MY Xbox One for sure, so this controller-problem is just like some
icing on the cake.
