    Xbox One S Controller not working with headset adapter for Turtle beach XOFour Headset.


    I just recently got an xbox one S to replace broken xbox one, and the original controller I used with my XO Four Headset (Turtle Beach) and the official xbox headset adapter. I thought my new S controller would just be a case of plug and play after the console
    and controller was done updating, I could hear my friends in party chat but i have been unable to talk using my S Controller. Do I need a new headset adapter or is there something else wrong?

    For all my Xbox ONE Gamers, question on Legacy Headsets mainly pertaining to Turtle Beach owners. Is there an added benefit going with the Turtle beach Adapter

    Hi all. Just purchased the Turtle Beach 30x cheap Headset for my Xbox one not realising that it needs a new Xbox controller (didn't realise there was a new controller) to plug directly into.

    In the Turtle Beach instructions it says to purchase the Ear Force Headset Audio Controller so I can plug the head set into that then that into the controller.

    My question at last is, will the official headset adapter for Xbox work with the Turtle Beach instead of their Audio Controller.

    Turtle Beach X41 - Volume Issue

    I got an email from TB,

    "The Xbox One Update has to be applied to your Xbox One controller and console before your Turtle Beach headset will work properly. This update is supplied by Microsoft Corp., not by Turtle Beach.

    The headsets themselves do not have firmware to be updated. The update is for the Xbox One Controller and Adapter to allow chat and/or game audio to be sent from the controller.

    Your headset may get some sound from the Xbox One controller, even before you apply the update. However, the sound may be distorted or not work at all. To get the best experience from your Turtle Beach headset, you'll need to update the controller before
    using your Turtle Beach headset."

    Controller Update for Stereo Headset Adapter Fails

    That was the solution. The adapter was bad on the xbox stereo headset. The turtle beach X04's were able to update and are working fine.

    I asked about this a month ago and ended up getting the turtle beach x12 headset. With the xbox one controller headset adapter and it's cabe this headset works great. I have it wired into my TV and use it for everything.

    most of the time audio via usb is not supported on xbox, you could get one of those turtle beach headsets with a base station that plug into optical but not sure how that works really as never owned one.

    i did use a turtle beach adapter which stopped all interference though, that plugs into controller and headset into that, they work quite well.
