    xbox one s controller not powering on my xbox one s console


    lately my xbox one s will not power on through my xbox one s controller. i need to power on by pressing the power button on the console. sometimes i have to press the power button twice to get the console to come on. the control and the console are connected
    as ive "buzzed" the controller in the settings.

    another thing which is strange is that when i go to power and start up in the settings and select either instant on or power saver, there is usually a little description of each mode which is displayed depending which option is selected. for me, no matter
    which option i select it only displays the info for instant on and not for power saver.

    every time i turn my xbox on now im getting the green background and logo and its taking time to load up as if its on power saver mode.

    any ideas?

    (i was in the preview program but no longer am, Xbox is connected through Ethernet cable)

    Yes, absolutely.

    In case there's confusion, the Bluetooth part in the controller is only for connecting it to a Windows PC. Bluetooth is not used on the Xbox One S, as the console does not actually have a Bluetooth chip.

    The Xbox One S controller still connects to the console with the same wireless protocol as any standard Xbox One controller.

    It even works vice versa! You can also connect a regular Xbox One controller to an Xbox One S.

    Im not xbox educated, Im buying for grandkids. I bought an xbox one s console for xmas. I ordered an extra controller and it is an xbox one.....does it matter? will it work one the xbox one s??? This is so confusing....Also, Do regular xbox one games play

    There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

    The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

    The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

    USB adapter). It connects to the Xbox One/One S the same way as the original controllers do.
