Xbox one S controller no longer working as it should.

Ever since the controller was updated to the new firmware that supports the feature to be synced with the computer and xbox at the same time, it no longer works as it should while connected via bluetooth to the computer. It works fine with a cable.

In the past it was detected as a xinput device, now it's a "6 axis 16 button gamepad with hat switch". The xbox button no longer opens the windows game bar nor the steam overlay.

Steam still detects it as a xbox one controller but if i close steam and try to play a game outside it that wants a xinput controller, it doesn't recognize one.

I have everything up to date. OS, apps, firmware. It was working before i update it to the newest firmware.

Doing a little research, it seems the series X/S controllers have this problem for a while now.

Is microsoft aware of this?

Hi,

as far as I know any Xbox One controller will work on any Xbox One (or Series S|X) consoles.

So a controller that came with a Xbox One S, should work fine with a regular Xbox One.

Xbox One controllers are universal they should work no matter if its Xbox One... One S... One X

If it's compatible with Xbox One, it should work with the entire family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X). What error message do you get when you attempt to connect the device to the One S? Is it simply not seeing the controller?

Impulse Trigger doesn't work on xbox one controller whole world knows that, but it should work on new xbox one s controller, Microsoft should give us some resolution on this we have already paid high price.

we are not worried about battery consumption just give us the feature Microsoft promised on this new controller.
