Xbox One S Controller Getting Disconnected

Hello everyone,

I've been having this issue with my Xbox One S for a few weeks now and it's been occurring more often the past couple of days. Occasionally, I'll be playing any game on Live with some friends and my controller will randomly disconnect. The Xbox button on
my controller will flash multiple times then reconnect to my Xbox. After a few seconds later, it will repeat the process. Sometimes it will wait only a few seconds to disconnect, other times it will wait minutes. When this happens, I usually have to go through
a period of hard resetting the console and power cycling the controller, but this isn't a permanent remedy as the issue is prevalent nearly daily.

Here are the steps that I've done to try and mitigate this issue, though I haven't had any success thus far:

Hard reset the Xbox One S console (holding the xbox button on the console for ~10 seconds until the console turns off, wait 30 seconds before turning back on).

Power cycling my controller (similar process to hard resetting the console).

Ensuring both controllers (notice plural) have fresh/brand new batteries

Ensuring both my console and controllers are all up-to-date with most recent firmware/drivers.

Trying different controllers (I can swap controllers and the new controller will immediately start having the EXACT same issue as the intial).

Factory resetting my Xbox One S and setting it up as a new console.

I've even tried hard wiring my controller to my console with a USB cable and it STILL goes through the process of randomly disconnecting/being unresponsive.

Now one more thing to note, when all of this started, my controller would disconnect but stay powered on. The light wouldn't blink on the controller at all, it would just be entirely unresponsive until I power cycled the controller. Once it would power back
on, it would respond for a few seconds then again become unresponsive and stay powered on. Only within the last week or so did it stop doing that and just start disconnecting/blinking/reconnecting as mentioned earlier in my post. This process (disconnecting/blinking/reconnecting)
happens sporadically and when it does happen, usually persists for hours until I finally give up on being able to game for the day.

At first, I thought it might be a defective controller, but I'm not so sure now. The console is less than a year old as I bought it around Black Friday of 2019. If anyone has ANY idea whatsoever, please share!

Same problem here.. Xb1 S controller randomly disconnects, original xbox one controller has no issues with xb1 S console...

I have not suffered with issues of my controllers disconnecting from my Xbox One S or X consoles.

So I know it isn't my controller as the behavior described above happens with my other controller AND my brand new (I just bought it two days ago) Turtle Beach Stealth 600. I've logged into my router now and unfortunately don't have the option to set my
5Ghz wireless channel to auto. This problem has essentially turned my xbox into a glorified apple tv as I can only use it for Netflix/Hulu because that doesn't require a controller connected to it.

Anyone know how to get ahold of someone at Microsoft for some technical support, possible warranty work, or refund at this point?

Your Xbox controller could be faulty, however I've had the same issue and solved it by setting my routers 5ghz wireless channels to "Auto" as they were statically set before. The Xbox controller seems to always have wireless enabled as it transmits audio
that way and if it gets any interference it will jump channels, this is that disconnect you're seeing.

Since you've tried just about everything, maybe try this out. I can assist in getting you into the router to adjust the settings if need be.
