Xbox one S controller freezing constanlty

I just bought a brand new Xbox one s battlefield one bundle and from the moment i turned it one my controller has been freezing for no apparent reason. Literally fresh out of the box it froze multiple times during the initial setup for the console and has
proceeded to get worse. I cant use it for more than 5 minutes tops but it almost always freezes less than a minute after reconnecting. i sit within 5 feet of the Xbox and it is not hidden or blocked by anything.

Xbox one s IS compatible with Xbox one elite controller so if you don't like the Xbox one s then use the elite controller.

 

Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

I also have the same issue. I just purchased a Xbox One S PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds Bundle and I get the same thing. During the setup, it seems like I have about 30 seconds of responsiveness before the screen freezes. Example: Prompted to enter email
- Get half way through entering it - controller becomes unresponsive - cursor stops blinking - appears that the actual Xbox is frozen. This doesn't always work but if I power off my controller and start it back up, sometimes the console becomes responsive
again. So frustrating since I just pulled it out of the box....

It's so hard to get support as well. I've spent a couple hours researching how to fix it but the Xbox support website is not helpful. When trying to chat, they produce articles that are irrelevant until I ask to be contacted by an support rep.

First try: They didn't call me until hours later when I was asleep yesterday.

Second try: Estimated callback time was 40 min...took about and hour and half to hear back. Was on the phone for 13 minutes and we got disconnected when I have excellent service. I was hoping he would call me back but he never did. There's no way to contact
him as the phone number directs you to the support website as opposed to connecting you with a rep. I think I might just return it and move on with my life.
