    Hi there!

    Basically when I try to charge my Xbox One S controller (Play and charge original kit) it doesn't charge at all.

    If I use the original Xbox One cable the charging led is orange just for a little while and then it turn white.

    Usually this means that the batteries are dead, the fun fact is that with the previous charge I played Halo 1, Gears of War and 85% of Halo 2, nearly 30 hours of play. How could be possible if batteries are dead?

    I had the same issue with the previous charge, but in the end the controller get fully charged...now basically it work only "wired"



    What can I do?

    I tried more than one USB cable and I connected the controller to various power sources.

    The Play and Charge Kit was gifted to me in December 2018. I had charged my controller 5-6 times (more or less) then I didn't used it for 9-10 month and I removed the battery kit from the controller until now...so basically it should be like new.

    I used a Play and Charge Kit for my Xbox360 as well, it worked good for years (and I charged the controller soooooo may times), so I really don't know what to do.

    I don't want to use AA batteries, but I don't want to buy a new Play and Charge Kit just to trow it away if I didn't use it regularly...any suggestions? Does it happen only to me?

    Xbox 360 controller for Windows 8.1

    Not via a play and charge kit. The play and charge kit simply charges the gamepad it doesn't turn it into a wired controller.

    Yes the official play and charge kit will work in the Xbox One S controller.

    You don't seem to have understood my problem.

    It works fine with the cable but it doesn't work wirelessly. The controller disconnects when trying to connect it wirelessly with the play and charge kit battery. Wireless with AA batteries is fine, Wired with the charge kit is fine. Wireless
    with the play and charge kit battery doesn't work.

    I have the wireless adapter and I am trying to connect it wirelessly to my Xbox controller with the play and charge kit battery, that

    Hi there,

    The Xbox One S controller uses two Double A (AA) batteries to power on wirelessly. You can also use a

    Play & Charge     kit to have the ability to recharge your controller. So long as the batteries are standard to Double A you should have no problem powering the Xbox One S controller.
