    Xbox One S Controller disconnects frequently no matter what I do.


    I have an xbox one s and a regular xbox one controller (model 1708) and over the past 3 months has randomly decided to disconnect whenever I am using my xbox. It usually takes about 5 minutes into my gaming session for the first disconnect to happen and then after I reconnect, it will disconnect 10-30 seconds later and repeats this indefinitely.

    Here are all the things I have tried:

    1. Using a different controller. I bought 2 brand new controllers and tried each one and neither worked so it is not the controller. (I returned both after that)

    2. Restarting the Xbox.

    3. Turning off the controller and turning it back on.

    4. Turning off the Xbox.

    5. Power Cycling the Xbox.

    6. Disconnecting and reconnecting the controller.

    7. Unplugging the Xbox and plugging it back in.

    8. Connecting the controller to the Xbox using 9 different micro-usb cables. It even disconnects while plugged in with a confirmed connection to the Xbox. I verified it by going into the settings where it said the controller was plugged in.

    9. Updating the controller. The controller is up to date with the latest firmware and there are no new updates available.

    10. Updating the console. The console is up to date with the latest firmware.

    11. Reseting the console. I have tried twice, once with keeping games and apps and the other time with completely factory resetting everything.

    I have been trying all of these for 3 months now and have not been able to actually use my Xbox for more than 5 minutes so at this point I am ready to give up. I have read everything online and done everything suggested and nothing has worked. Not really sure why I'm even asking here but thought I'd give it one last shot before I get rid of this terrible console and switch to Playstation.

    As promised, I've consulted our internal team about this issue of yours. Upon further investigation, we've found a few information about controllers.

    On this article, it is stated that the controller will automatically connect to the Bluetooth device that you were just using while it also searches for new devices – just in case you want to connect a different Bluetooth device, Xbox console, or PC.     • May we know if you've already tried connecting the controller to the PC or mobile if they have issue?
    • How about connecting other controller do you have any issues?

    Xbox One S Controller disconnects frequently no matter what I do.

    Yes I have tried connecting to my computer and there are no issues with disconnecting at all. Then I unpair from my computer and remove so it doesn't try and connect again. Then I connect back to my Xbox and I get the same issue. As stated I have tried multiple new controllers with fresh batteries and get the same issue no matter what.
