    Xbox one s controller can't be recognized properly using Bluetooth


    It works fine except occasional disconnection but it'll pop right back after few blinking, so I updated the Bluetooth driver to the latest through Intel Driver Update Utility.

    After this the controller can't be used in games as it used to be after connecting to PC normally but using USB to connect PC works fine.

    Under Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers I checked the properties for wireless and wired， one with 17 keys and one with 12 keys, form that I can tell Win10 don't register it as a proper xbox controller though the name says it is.

    Any suggestion?

    You can't, unfortunately.

    The Xbox One S controller's bluetooth function was mainly designed for Windows 10 PC users, as Windows 10 (with the Anniversary update) has the necessary drivers to properly interface with the controller, most likely to coincide with the recent "Play Anywhere"
    feature for Xbox One.

    With that in mind, Microsoft did not release bluetooth controller drivers for other platforms, so there is no official support of the Xbox One S controller outside of Windows 10.

    Xbox One S Controller Bluetooth PC connect problem

    Hi

    I am using Windows 10 x64, Kensington Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter and a new Xbox One S Bluetooth capable controller with the latest firmware.

    In device manager it appears as Generic Bluetooth Radio, Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator.

    I am unable to pair the controller. The PC just keeps searching. It did find a device once called "Game controller" but was unable to pair.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    You can use a regular Xbox One controller on an Xbox One S console, and you can use an Xbox One S controller on a regular Xbox One console.

    All controllers connect to the Xbox console the same way, via proprietary RF.

    If you are confused because of the addition of Bluetooth in the Xbox One S, just know that Bluetooth is only built into the Xbox One S controller (there is actually no bluetooth functionality in the Xbox One S console itself). The Bluetooth in the controller
    is just a secondary method of wireless connectivity designed solely for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth (without the need of a
    USB adapter). It connects to the Xbox One/One S the same way as the original controllers do.

    Yes, absolutely.

    In case there's confusion, the Bluetooth part in the controller is only for connecting it to a Windows PC. Bluetooth is not used on the Xbox One S, as the console does not actually have a Bluetooth chip.

    The Xbox One S controller still connects to the console with the same wireless protocol as any standard Xbox One controller.

    It even works vice versa! You can also connect a regular Xbox One controller to an Xbox One S.

    The Xbox One S Controllers have the ability to connect via Bluetooth to OTHER devices (like a PC, or mobile devices), but when connected via Bluetooth, they can't transmit game sound.
