    Xbox one s controller burning smell.


    I bought my son an xbox one s last Christmas and the controller stopped working a few months later. I gave him my backup and it sat for a while. Anyway when you plug the controller in with bayteries in it, it works. But after a few seconds it starts to
    get very hot and the smell of burning plastic filled the whole room. What could be causing this, and is it a fire hazard?

    Plastic/electrical Burning smell from Xbox one X

    Any kind of burning smell from your console or controller should not be used and if so make sure it's turn off.

    Best thing to do is contact Xbox support

    I have that too!

    The first 360 E smelled like burned plastic, the whole room was full of it!

    I exchange it, but the second 360 E smells the same, not so extrem, but the same smell!

    I think they use cheap plastic or something, never hat that before with a new 360 or 360 S.

    Hello Macchiiato, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your console.

    This is definitely not normal and should be fixed as soon as possible. If the console was just recently purchased then I'd first recommend returning to the store and seeing if you can do an exchange.

    If they are unable to do that then you would need to set up a repair of the console. You can do this at https://account.microsoft.com/devices. Once set up and you have received your shipping label via email you can pack up up the console.

    Please be sure to send only the console and nothing else as Xbox does not guarantee that extra items such as cables or controllers will be returned
