  1. Xbox One S Controller bluetooth/USB connection trouble

    Hello everyone,

This is my problem: when I pair my Xbox controller with Windows 10 (Pro, 64-bit) via Bluetooth, and then (when the battery needs to be charged) I connect it via USB, the Bluetooth pairing doesn't work anymore. I need to remove the controller from the known
devices and I need to pair it again to make the Bluetooth connection working again. So, thisis normal or not? This doesn't happen with my PS4 controller, when I pass from USB to Bluetooth connection or viceversa.

    Any solution, please?

Thank you in advance to anyone will help me Xbox One S Controller bluetooth/USB connection trouble :)

    :)

The connection for the Elite controller would have to be to an Xbox One console, via Micro-USB to USB, or via Bluetooth. Are you having trouble with the Shield detecting Bluetooth?

I was able to find this post on Reddit that has a solution that might work for getting it connected: [Shield Tablet K1] Bluetooth not finding any devices : theNvidiaShield

Xbox One S Controller bluetooth/USB connection trouble

After the batteries have been fully recharged, and you removed the USB cable from the controller, did you also press the sync button (press and hold for 3 seconds)?

What is the model number of your Wireless card, and what driver version do you have installed?

You should not have to remove a device from the device manager list. Simply disable/enable your Bluetooth adapter.

  6. I tried to switch off and again on the BT after held the sync button, but didn't work. The drivers of the controller are updated, as its firmware. Same thing for the bluetooth adaptor. I repeat: the DualShock 4 doesn't have the same problem, it just works
as well as I expect. Any other hint?

Thanks for the help Xbox One S Controller bluetooth/USB connection trouble :)

Do you connect the USB cable to a USB 3.0 port?

Do you use a Bluetooth adapter or a built-in module?

Do you have an additional Windows 10 machine (with bluetooth installed), that you could try troubleshoot on, to see if this behaviour can be reproduced?

Out of curiosity; how did you update your wireless controller?

    Thanks in advance.

Xbox One S Controller bluetooth/USB connection trouble

This might be a pretty old post, but I recently got a controller and been having this issue. According to an Xbox support person I chatted with today, that is how the controller has been "designed" they said it was normal behavior. Seems like it is not a
    good design.

Are xbox one controllers the same as xbox one s controllers?

You can use a regular Xbox One controller on an Xbox One S console, and you can use an Xbox One S controller on a regular Xbox One console.

All controllers connect to the Xbox console the same way, via proprietary RF.

If you are confused because of the addition of Bluetooth in the Xbox One S, just know that Bluetooth is only built into the Xbox One S controller (there is actually no bluetooth functionality in the Xbox One S console itself). The Bluetooth in the controller
is just a secondary method of wireless connectivity designed solely for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth (without the need of a
USB adapter). It connects to the Xbox One/One S the same way as the original controllers do.

Can I use a Blue Tooth Adapter instead of a Xbox Adapter?

Are you talking about connecting controllers to the PC?

With a USB bluetooth adapter, you can connect one Xbox One S controller to the computer. Bluetooth connectivity requires your computer to be running Windows 10 (with the Anniversary update).

You can read more about bluetooth connectivity

Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

XBox controller disconnects from PC or stops responding

Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

Let me know if the information is still useful.

    Sincerely,
    Marvina.
