    Xbox One S controller bluetooth issue - Vibration get stuck in Rocket League

    Hello,

    I have a strange problem with my Xbox One S Controller.

    In Rocket League the vibration get stuck oafter setting it up in steam as "Use Steam Configuration for Non-Steam Controllers".

    The strange thing here is that the controller is listed in the device manager as "Bluetooth XINPUT-compatible device (German: "Bluetooth XINPUT-kompatibles Eingabegerät")".

    When I uninstall this device, reboot the pc and start the game the controller works as expected.

    After I reboot again the old problem is back. The controller's vibration get stuck again during the game.

    Here's a video I made that shows the problem:

    The whole problem dont occur when using it via USB.

    Also the controller is working when I dont enable the setting "Use Steam Configuration for Non-Steam Controllers".

    To reproduce the issue you need the latest version of the Xbox One Controller with bluetooth support.

    Steps:

    * Connect the controller via USB to your PC (Windows 10 - Fall creators update)

    * Launch Steam in Big Picture Mode

    * Go to Settings -> Controller Settings and activate "Xbox Configuration Support"

    * Got back to library

    * Go to Rocket League in you library

    * Go to manage game

    * Go to "Controller Options" and check "Use Steam Configuration for Non-Steam Controllers"

    * Launch the game

    * Got to free play and score a goal

    * During the goal explosion press start to pause the game. The controller still vibrates randomly

    * Exit the game

    * Got back to manage game

    * Go to "Controller Options" and uncheck "Use Steam Configuration for Non-Steam Controllers"

    * Start the game again

    * Go to free play

    * Score a goal

    * During the goal explosion press start to pause the game. The vibration will stop as expected.

    When you now uninstall the "Bluetooth XINPUT-compatible device" from the device manager, restart the pc and do the excat same steps as above again you will notice that the problem is now gone.

    Then restart the PC again and the problem is back.

    Can someone help me with this issue? Xbox One S controller bluetooth issue - Vibration get stuck in Rocket League :(

    Thanks!

    :)

    No vibration on PC using new Xbox One S Controller on Bluetooth

    Using a new Xbox One S controller (white color) in Bluetooth wireless mode on a new Windows 10 PC (6700K, n1080 etc.). All drivers up to date, controller updated, OS up to date.

    There is no vibration in Gears of War 4. Vibration is enabled in the game settings.

    Tested multiple times, including several system resets and controller re-pairings etc.

    I tested some other games I own, and vibration works fine with this controller on Bluetooth connection.

    The only way I can get rumble in GOW4 PC with this controller is by using wired connection. But I didn't pay $70 for a Bluetooth controller to use wires.

    No vibration on PC using new Xbox One S Controller on Bluetooth

    SOLVED!

    After a lot of experimenting, I discovered the solution to this issue.

    Vibration DOES work with the Xbox One S controller over Bluetooth! I have seen false reports by people that Microsoft has said it doesn't. That is simply incorrect. It does work.

    Here is what is happening: sometimes when you connect and disconnect controllers, Windows will get confused about which to set as the PREFERRED game device. That word, PREFERRED, is the key. If the wireless controller is not marked as the preferred device,
    then the control inputs will still work, but vibration data will not be sent to the device.

    So, how to fix it? Luckily, it's VERY EASY.

    1) Go the Game Controllers window via Control Panel.

    2) Click on your controller ("Bluetooth XINPUT compatible input device").

    3) Click on "Advanced" below the list of controllers.

    4) Select "Bluetooth XINPUT compatible input device" as the preferred device.

    Now, you should have full vibration working in Windows games while playing over Bluetooth.

    Xbox One S controller bluetooth issue - Vibration get stuck in Rocket League

    One thing to note here. The problem also dont occur when you connect the controller with the old xbox wireless connector for windows.

    The problem is exclusively related to the bluetooth connection.

    This solution requires to set the xbox controller as preferred every time the connection is established, at least in my case. Could someone from the Microsoft team please address this issue?
