Xbox one S connected to smart tv on occasions...

Got an Xbox One S last Christmas, installed on my tv without any problems…

When we visit my inlaws, I bring it so my boy can play while grownups talks…

So my inlaws changed their tv for a new smart tv last april… being in their 70s, they planned an installation by a tech guy from the store and he (tech) told them to have in hand everything that needs to be linked to tv (they told about the occasional Xbox
plugged in) so he had in hand my Xbox for the TV programming...

For what ever reasons, we didnt use much the console back home until this week (4 weeks later) and my Xbox doesnt find my wifi signal anymore… rebooted router, pc, Xbox, no changes…

So we go back to inlaws for Fathers day, it links to wifi there…

So I think that the console links to internet via the tv instead of wifi signal, but could the tv somehow made the Xbox "exclusive" to it?

The console doesnt find my home wifi signal, even if i write it manually…

I'm no tech, and dont want to touch the inlaws tv without having them on my back, so what do i do so my Xbox gets my wifi?

If i have to reset parameters, do i loose all games infos stored in it ( my 2 kids are aspergers, i'm walking a thin line here…)

Help!!??

Samsung Smart TV Turns on Xbox One S

I have a Samsung smart TV connected to my Xbox One S. My Xbox One S turns on when I turn on the TV. How can I stop this?

Xbox Screen appears only for few dialogues boxes

I find my xbox one s working while set on dvi and 640p resolution. But no display on 1080p and hdmi.

Just to add i am using samsung smart 3d tv aand also tested my xbox one s on 2 other displays.. one pc monitor and one more smart tv

Certainly try and do a factory reset to see if that helps. You won’t lose everything if you select the correct option.

You can Reset and Remove Everything. DO NOT DO THIS!!

You can also choose to reset, but keep games and apps. This is what you want to choose.

The wired or wireless connection is handled through your router, not the Samsung Smart TV. Samsung Smart TV has nothing to do with Xbox One. Connect the Xbox One directly to your wireless or wired router, not your Samsung Smart TV.

Dont Test Me

I recently bought an xbox one s on facebook marketplace and It will not work on my TV (not smart or 4k) or my sisters Samsung TV (not smart or 4k) but it will work on the 4K Toshiba Smart TV.

only issue on the 4k TV is that randomly every few minutes the screen will go black for a second then comes back and it will not let me switch above 720p as when i try 4k and 1080p it will just stay black screen.

I feel like it might be the HDMI port on my xbox one that might be dodgy.

(I have tried multiple HDMIs and I’ve done a hard reset and a reset through the settings and nothing is working)

I can provide more information if needed.

Also my friend brings his xbox one around a lot and his xbox one s works on my TV (Not smart or 4k).

not sure if this helps but its worth a try Select Settings. Under Display & sound, select Video output. Select TV resolution, and then select either
720p, 1080p or 4K UHD, whichever is best for your TV. Note If you don't see the resolution for your TV, make sure to set TV connection to Auto detect.
