Xbox One S Compatibility with Hauppauge TV Tuner for Xbox One

My new One S arrived and I'm trying unsuccessfully to get my TV Tuner for Xbox One working. So far the One S is not recognizing it when inserted into the USB port. The device is working fine on my Windows 10 PC with Hauppauge's Win TV v8 application so I
know the device is OK. Is this a know issue? Has anyone been able to get this combo to work?

What a difference a week makes ! Seems the Xbox branded Tuner is available and even much cheaper than the Hauppauge model.

OTA USB TV TUNER SUPPORT

It would be nice to be able to plug in a usb ota hdtv tuner into the xbox one and use that for people who ony have internet and don't subscribe to a tv package. something like.

I have a similar device, the Hauppauge pvr2. when you say the Xbox one S is not recognizing the device, make sure that the USB is going to your computer, not the Xbox one S, the HDMI out goes into your tv. and the HDMI in is from the system to the device.
The USB goes from the device to the computer. have the correct drivers on the PC and you should be able to start recording.

It is supposed to be recognized by the Xbox One as a USB tuner. No HDMI connection required...

 

ok sorry about that, I should had asked which one were you using first. i found a set up video on youtube let me know if this works for you or not.

Hey all, Hauppauge has a step by step manual located on their website to setup the device on the console

Just click on "Manuals" and then "Digital TV Tuner for Xbox One Quick Install Guide" It's a PDF file, so you will need a PDF reader to view it, but please give that a shot and the Troubleshooting steps as well.

 

My device mysteriously started working over the weekend. I have no idea why. The Xbox has been power cycled multiple times during my earlier setup attempts. All I can suggest to others having difficulty is to use the USB extender cable that ships with the
dongle, connect a viable OTA DTV antenna, leave it all plugged in and try the setup each time you power up the box. It eventually worked for me. Be advised that Microsoft currently limits connectivity to just OTA. It will not recognize your cable provider
coax. The device does support all coax connections on my PC so this clearly is a decision made by Microsoft.
