When I turn Off everything when I'm just at Home with One S its making a Whining noise as well barely heard unless you realize what's heard

Sorry to hear about the issue with the noise. It does sounds like this is hardware related as Hydro Skillet suggested though. We'd also recommend exchanging the console with the retailer to ensure your hardware is working properly.

 

coil whine with latest update

The latest system update from 8/5/2016 has introduced coil whine to my xbox one. Coil whine is a buzzing sound that can be heard from across the room, but only when the system is idle, for example at the home screen. It goes away when the system is being
stressed, for example playing a game. It is also present in instant on mode. This coil whine was not there before the update. From what I have read an update long ago fixed coil whine for many. This most recent update has reintroduced it.

Thanks for bringing this up to our attention. I would like to clarify a few things to better assist here. How do you have the console positioned and is it in a well ventilated area? Does the noise get louder if you use the console on certain games or apps?Also,
by any chance have you attempted to reset the internal power supply to see if after it still makes the noise? If no try this:

To reset the internal power supply, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the power cord from the console.

1. Wait 10 seconds.
2. Plug the cord back into the console, and then press the Xbox button
   on the front of the console.

If that doesn't help we suggest (if it hasn't already been done) a reset of the console
since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a
Soft Factory Reset(while keeping games and apps)
Before resetting your console make sure of the following:

• There is a stable network connection.
  
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)
  
  
  

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup let's do
manual setup.

Does that help the whining noise you hear coming from the console? Give it a shot and let us know.

 

In addition to Leslie D's excellent advice try (just to rule it out) plugging the Xbox directly into the wall and not using your surge protector (if you are using one)? Or try a different outlet? I had this issue once and it was a poorly made power strip.
