Xbox One S clearing the cache

Hello Xbox, I have an Xbox One S (2-years old), and it’s the console that just has a “regular” square shaped plug in the back, no “power” box or anything like that.

I’ve been playing Skyrim since it came out, even before the DLC’s (360 Xbox). I’m playing through again, but without Mods this time around. Im having to go through again because of how the narrative is going. I deleted all of the Saves and Loads, then I uninstalled Skyrim.

I reinstalled it and when I began the game again there was a listing of the Mods I had before starting the game. So if I deleted and uninstalled Skyrim, why does the Xbox list the Mods? Also, the visuals seem a bit “shaky”. Is there a good, safe way to clear the cache of information it seemingly has of Skyrim/Mods?

    :)

I did what you described as well as from a video on YouTube.

Unplug modem and then unplug the Xbox One S. Wait about a minute and then plug Xbox and then the modem (both procedures in order described). Then I did what you described. Reinstalled Skyrim and it seems pretty clean so far.

I don’t understand why MS didn’t allow for maintenance etc. The 360 could be defragged and disc checked.

Xbox One S clearing the cache

    Hello @JesseCombs!

One way to clear the cache of the previous Mods on your Console, is by deleting them manually. To do so, open the game and select Mods from the main menu. From there, find the mod you wish to delete in your Library, select it, and use the Delete option.

If you are unable to load the game to delete your mods, you can still do so by following the below steps:

    1. Navigate to My Games and Apps from the Xbox One S dashboard.
    2. Highlight the game from the Games category.
    3. Press [Menu] on your controller and select Manage Game.
    4. Navigate to the right where the Saved Data is located and highlight Reserved Space.
    5. Press [Menu] on your controller and select Clear reserved space.
      • If the reserved space fails to clear, you should power cycle your Xbox One S and try again.
If the above steps fail to resolve the issue, you should completely uninstall and reinstall the game and try again.

You are doing all the right things are you getting a message regarding cache or something leading you to think it is full? You may want to try to full power down and unplug for several minutes for the power brick to fully drain, even if you unplug it
from the back of the console.

    ,

Thank you for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue trying to clear the cache on your Xbox One console.

If you haven't already done so, go ahead and try performing a Soft console Factory
    reset
on your console by doing the following:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console. [Keep my Games and Apps]
Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything and to save your games and apps; choose the latter.

Hope this helps! Let us know!
