Xbox One S Changing Fan Speeds on a Dime?

So I noticed last night my Xbox One S fan is changing speeds on a DIME when I launch or close certain titles. It doesn't ramp up to full speed or sound like a vacuum cleaner like I've read about. Just a slight change in the sound of the fan. But it's instant.
I mean, I've owned several PCs and I know they do stuff like this, but never this quickly or responsively. More specifically, last night I booted up Outlast. I had my box fan off in my room and heard my One making this fan sound like FFFFFFFFFF---...FFFFFFFFFF---...FFFFFFFFFFF---... in
the main title menu. Wasn't too loud but it was loud enough to determine that there two different throttle speeds being used interchangeably. When I start the game by choosing continue my save it goes away and remains at a steady whir in-game. Only happens
in the menu and it only happens with Outlast. I noticed from going from the Main Menu in Gears 4 and Bf4 to playing a match, the fan seems to change speed as well, it's less obvious and seems to remain at a steady speed as opposed to the strange rhythmic pattern
that only happens in the Outlast title menu.

Does anybody else have Outlast to confirm that this isn't a system defect and actually a feature? I know that the Xbox One detects high temps and adjusts the fans accordingly.

Wonder if that's what it is?

Extremely noisy Xbox One when playing games.

Usually the fan will kick up in speed when you're playing a game. I have a feeling that the "buzzing" you describe could be something vibrating inside or around the Xbox when the fan hits a high enough speed.

Try repositioning your console, remove any loose objects sitting near it, and if it's an Xbox One S, change the orientation (horizontal/vertical). See if that helps with the buzzing.

Just curious if any other X1 owner, Has the same thing happens to them

When playing a game the fan will randomly speed up, sounds like a mini jet engine.


It will last about 5 to 10 seconds and then stop. and then it will be nice and quiet. is this normal
