Xbox one S, can't play games offline

Hey there Baker,

Sorry to hear you are running into these problems when trying to play your console offline. In order to actually get the games to work while your console is offline you would have to set up the Home console under the account that owns the games. So for example
if you own the games on your account, you would need to set up the Home console under your account while the console is online.

I've tried all of that to where i can play my games offline and it worked once and now it won't work again. It still asks for my sign in. My internet is down and some games that can be played offline i can play them again unless i repeat the process again,
and again using the internet off my phone for a short time to reset it up. This is ridiculous. I love xbox but why can't it just be simple to download games and just be able to play games rather yoy are online or not. Not everyone plays online. Lots just wants
ro just kick back and relax with a games and not have to worry about going online and connecting to people and play by ourselves.

Some games despite not having online multiplayer may require online features. I would do not use the online or DLC features.

You must be online when you Set up your xbox one for the first time. Without an internet connection, you can’t finish setup. After your Xbox has updated and you’ve added your profile, you can go offline.

When your Xbox is offline you can:

• Watch TV (though you need to be online for OneGuide listings)
• Sign in to your profile (if you've signed in online before)
• Change console settings (except for profile and family settings; content controls remain in place while offline)
• Play games (provided you've set this as your home Xbox or have a game disc)
• Save game clips and screenshots
• Earn achievements (however, there's limited offline space for game captures and achievements, so you should go online every so often to sync them)

Activities your Xbox must be online for include:

• Playing games and apps that require the internet
• Syncing game progress and playing saved games from a different Xbox
• Using social features like friends, messages, and parties
• Shopping for games, add-ons, movies, and so on
• Updating games, apps, and your Xbox console

Set your Xbox to offline

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings.
3. Choose Network.
4. Select Network settings > Go offline.

To go back online, repeat the first three steps, and in step 4 choose Go online.
