  1. Xbox One S can not detect Wireless Range Extender Network

My Xbox one S (Latest Updated to OS Version 10.0.22000.3055) can not detect TP-Link TL-WA850RE N300 Wireless Range Extender .
I have done all the basic trouble shooting listed here at xbox support page but no luck so far .

I have placed the range extender in same room, all the devices (Windows laptop , MacBook pro , Android phone) can detect the range extender and can connect to it but the Xbox can not detect it at all however it can detect wifi network from Android HotSpot .

I have even tried resetting range extender, restarting main router, changing network name(SSID) , but nothing worked, its strange as all the other devices can detect and connect to this range extender except Xbox One S
The problem here is not with the connectivity but detecting the WiFi network from extender .

Note that it could detect and connect to same range extender earlier without any issue, this issue occurred after previous Xbox OS update.

    :)

Xbox One S can not detect Wireless Range Extender Network

Hello BlackSmithHammer! I'm Claus, an Independent Microsoft Community Consultant for Xbox! Glad to be able to help you!

It could be that the latest update introduced a small bug on the console's Wi-Fi. Let's check if by doing some simple procedures, you might get your console connected to the internet again.

    Follow these steps:

    1. With the console on, press and hold the Xbox button on the console itself until it shuts off.

    2. Unplug it from the wall for 30 seconds.

    3. Connect it to wall again.

    4. Turn it on.

    5. Check if the issue has been resolved.

If your console still can't detect your Wi-Fi extender, check if you can change the Wireless channel to channels between 5-10, because it could be that your console isn't detecting your Wi-Fi given that it is on a unsupported channel (this has happened to me before on a different console).

And if after trying all of those steps you still can't get your console connected to your Wi-Fi, then it would be recommended to contact the Xbox Support, to report this bug.

Xbox series X error code 0x0000000000000100

I'm trying to connect to the internet on my series X and it can't detect my modem. I have an internet range extender and it can't detect it either as long as the main modem is still in running order. If the modem is turned off or not functioning properly I can connect to the range extender, and I get 'Cannot connect to the DCHP server' message. When the modem is turned on, the range extender dissappers from the list and I get a 'Can't connect to wireless network' error. Tired of this, I went to the advanced network' settings, did virtually nothing and when it checked the network' status, I got this error code.
Bear in mind that I've set my console up while it was connected to the extender, this issue wasn't present until one day I tried to start my console up and it just wouldn't connect to the extender or the router. We have a 2nd range extender-ish modem that is connected to the main router, it just works like an extender. And, bizarrely, I can connect to the 'extender modem' with no problems. I have no idea why is that. I have tried the troubleshooting steps (exept connecting via wire bc we don't have one lying around) and it just won't work. I don't want to connect to the 'extender modem' because it's too far away for an optimal connection.

    Network Issues

    Hi sb69420,

Thanks for your response. Network extenders can cause many issues when connecting to Xbox Live, they work well for extending the range of your wireless networks for streaming movies or internet surfing, but they can cause issues for high-demand online gaming.
Try disabling the extender for a while and test out your connection.

Please let us know how this goes!

I want to extend the range of the xbox controller to an xbox one using an xbox wireless adapter

    Hi,

The Xbox One wireless adaptor doesn't work on Xbox consoles. It is designed for PC's only. You can't extend the range.
