Xbox One S - Can it play any type of recordable disc?

Discus and support Xbox One S - Can it play any type of recordable disc? in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Does the new Xbox One S support all types of DVD and BD discs, i.e. BD-R, DVD+R?     Does the new Xbox One S support all types of DVD and BD discs, i.e. BD-R, DVD+R? If not, which ones?

    I can't find any kind of detailed specs.

    I run my Xbox through a recordable DVD player, it's great for recording game footage but you can't add commentary unless you have a good editing suite, but it still might be an option for those of you who have recordable DVD players...

    How to record gameplay

    I run my Xbox through a recordable DVD player, it put's it on a disk then i can use my PC to do what i want with the content.

    Xbox One Series S - I'm confused

    You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

    The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

    The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

    The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

    The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

    All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

    The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

    I hope this clears things up for you.

    I hate to say it, but it sounds like your optical drive is going bad. You need to call support and request a repair. Maybe an advanced exchange. Word of warning tho, keep records of who you talk to, what they told you, dates and times. Seems as if support
    is overwhelmed, understaffed, and probably not sufficiently trained. Over a month now to get my console replaced, first one they sent me wouldn't even turn on. Still not sure if they found the console they sent me ( that didn't work and I sent back). Also
    make copies of every piece of paper work ( return labels..ect..) that you receive from support. Will make it easier if there is a snag. Good luck.

    Thankyou Kubindad. I rang support and they told me to ring the shop I bought it from and they will replace the xbox. I had some issues with the retailer but all seems good. leaving now and hoping the shop keeps their word
