Xbox one s button input doesn’t do anything

On my one s my buttons on my controller seems to stop working. When I press A to select something in game it doesn’t do anything. It highlights like I selected it but that’s it. When I press the home button, the menu comes up but when I select home to leave game it does the same. Can’t leave game, just highlights like I selected it but doesn’t do anything. Restarting the system fixes the issue but only for a short time. It acts up again randomly during game play. How can I fix this?

    :)

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

Press and hold the console power button until the console turns off, remove the power cord and HDMI cable. Remove the batteries from your controller for a few minutes.

After a few minutes, plug the cables into your console, put the batteries in your controller, and try powering up the console with your controller and see if that solves the problem.

If the problem persists reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.

In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

    To reset the console>

    Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

***Do not reset your console without having your account email and password.***

I can’t customize my xbox profile

Yeah, the only problem that occurs is that when I click the save button, it won’t input anything. So it doesn’t update anything.

    Passkey

Thanks for the work around. I don’t think anything is wrong with the controller. The X button works fine with everything except the passphrase. When I reach the 4th position in the passphrase it makes an audible input sound but doesn’t advance to the 5th
position. If I use the X button for any other position it accepts. Doesn’t seem like a mechanical problem.

Xbox Series X/One compatible disk wont read in Xbox One

I’m having the same problem, the disc literally says it’s multi system playable, it says series x/s and Xbox one on it, my disc spins a few times then stops, Xbox doesn’t do anything. No error message or anything

Xbox shuts off 30 seconds after turning it on

If you have an Xbox Series S, press and hold the Xbox button  and the Pair button  instead, as your console doesn’t have an Eject button.
