    Xbox One S brightness / dimness issue


    I've noticed when I first turn on my console the UI screen is very bright and looks really good. However, when I'm playing Forza Horizon 3 I hit the guide button to get to the UI and the screen is considerably dimmer. I go to the setting and scroll a bit
    but dont change anything, when I go back to the UI everything is bright again. I'm wondering if my game is looking as good as it's supposed to or if there is a problem.

    When I watch a bluray this issue doesnt seem to be present. The UI stays bright throughout. I have a 4K tv and receiver and I've checked all my HDR settings, everything seems fine. Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal?

    Latest Dashboard update is a huge step backwards, i hate it

    with this new update, is your custom background image still "dimmed" like in the prior dashboard? is there an option to adjust the brightness/dimness of your custom background image now?

    Xbox One power light dimming

    The brightness of the Xbox light depends on how light the room is. If the room is dark or slightly dim, the Xbox light will be dim too (so that the light is not too bright and distracting I assume). If the room is bright, however, the Xbox light will be bright (so that you can see it clearly in a well lit room).

    Xbox One S brightness / dimness issue

    Not had this and I have a Xbox Slim and Forza.

    When you check the video settings on the console is there a green tick next to everything, 4K, 60hz Mode, HDR Gaming etc?

    Yep everything except under watching movies and tv at 4K 24hz and 50hz. It's so weird I was playing Deus Ex with no problems. The UI stayed vibrant and bright throughout.

    When the room is dark the LED's dim when the room is bright the LED's are bright Xbox One does this automatically noting is wrong with it. it's an ambient light sensor

    Seems to change based on the light in the room. Kinda like when your phone screen dims. Dark room = dim Xbox logos on the system, Kinect and controller, bright room = bright light.
