XBOX ONE S brand new power supply noise Or fan NOISE

Hi everybody,

I come here to tell you I bought a brand new XBOX ONE S battlefield 1 To limited edition and i Got only trouble with it.

I got either the fan noisy problem (fan making a lot of noise, more than the normal noise on a functional xbox one s without the trouble) or the sizzling power supply noise (horrible noise especially when the console is turned off)

For them who can wonder, i tried everything, changing wall socket (i don't have any powersurge or whatever) and put the console in economy mode (not instant turn on).

I already changed my xbox one s 3 times in store, same problem (some are really really noisy, some are less).

I called MS, they told there is a trouble and they confirm (3 call, so 3 times different people), they should be no noise at all when XBOX ONE S is shut down.

I would like to hear some people who got a functional XBOX ONE S with no sizzling noise when shut down (or fan noise too even if it's a different problem).

Please tell me which version do you have and when did you get your console as it might help to understand.

Power Supply Fan Dying

My Xbox one power supply is making at times this very loud noise, something like the fan is grinding or is stuck or something. Do I need to buy a new power supply? Can I get this one repaired? Or is there something I can do to fix this.

To make sure, approach your ear at the back of the console, once is shut down and check there is no noise at all.

 

Many report everywhere about this, should i buy a PS4 or ask for a refund and wait maybe scorpio.

Microsoft keep silence about this. I would like to hear that the problem is solved on new one. But today just try a brand new in a shop, same problem again...

 

Hey Tedlabete007! If you believe the console is making a noise it shouldn't be then exchanging it with the retailer is your best bet to ensure you have a fully working console. Additionally the console, if purchased new, will have a warranty attached in
case you have issues that appear shortly after purchase. This warranty differs depending on where you purchase it so be sure to check with your retailer. Thanks!

I already changed several times my Xbox in the shop, they get bored and now they say the noise is normal, even if it is not. We tried 3 Xbox in the same shop so I understand their point of view. THey are going to be out of stock if I wait for a good one.

My friend is lucky he has a good one and no fan noise or aynthing.

So now my only chance is to get through MS support.

With and avanced exchange (I will pay a caution 460 euros here in Europe), Will I be sure I will get a nice and quiet Xbox without default? And Will I be sure MS won't tell the same thing than the shop after a moment. Deny the noise and say everything is
perfectly normal? Because in this case I prefer to ask a refund and wait for the scorpio hoping it won't have any fan or power supply trouble...
