Xbox One S Blu Ray playing

I am having issues with certain blu rays playing with flickering and green spots showing up. The menu's on these show fine, the video flickers and pixelates. Audio is fine. And it seems to be only with Warner Brothers Blu rays. Not all, but most of
mine. Examples would be Batman, any of the Matrix, any of The Lord of the Rings, Goonies. I have more WB disk, I just havent checked them. I have backed up these blu ray's and tried to stream the backup and the same issue happened. It seems to be maybe
something wrong with the VC'1 codec. That is just my guess. All of my movies have played on both my Xbox's before. The disk are clean and will play on other devices. This seems like an issue with the app or codecs within the xbox or app itself. I have bought
2 xbox's for to handle all of my media needs on 2 different tv's. I dont want to have to buy another device to play blu ray's.

Does Xbox One S play Blu Ray and DVD?

Is it just Blu Ray or both Blu Ray and DVD for the Xbox One S?

The Xbox One S is fully capable of playing Blu-Ray and DVD movies, especially 4K UHD Blu-Rays. You just have to download the Blu-Ray app: Blu-ray App on Xbox One | Watch Blu-ray discs on Xbox One

Otherwise, any HDMI-capable device will work through the HDMI-in port on the Xbox One.

 

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

 

Did it, no change. I've already Uninstalled the blu ray app and cleared the settings in the blu ray settings. Again, these things all play fine on other devices. It's more than likely a codec issue. I am also on the insiders preview so it could be a software
bug within that.

Disc and Blu-ray Settings will explain how to locate persistent storage. Please make sure that there is not a disc in the console when the persistent storage is cleared. You are correct. The Xbox Insider program may be causing the issue as well. Usually,

Are you on the insiders program because that sounds famikiar to a bug I have but is because I am on the alpha ring of the xbox so by the time it gets a main strem update it should be fixed...

 

Yes I am on the insides. Hopefully this will get resolved

The newest inside update has fixed this issue. You may need to manually check the availability through the settings.
