Xbox One S Blu Ray Player Issues

Here I am again, with a new issue. I don't know if it is only me or other owners are having problems with playing regular bluray movies. Sometimes it works just fine, but most of the times it does not. I have almost no issues playing 4K HDR blu ray movies(except
the over-saturated screen issue which is still not solved- discussed in another post), but when I try to play a regular bluray movie most of the times my blu ray player unable to launch said disc. I know my blurays are working just fine as my 6 year old console
from the competition is running them just fine.

The Xbox One S bluray player freezes the console to a point to where I have to eject the disc to be able to get back into the home screen.

I am very disappointed with the bluray player on my Xbox One S, and if you have similar issues or found the solution, you are more than welcome to post here.

4k problems ono xbox one s

I love everything about the Xbox S except for the 4k blue ray player. I bought 2 4k UHD disks, The Revenant and Star Trek Into Darkness. The Revenant had major audio sync problems which just come and go. Star Trek Into Darkness would not even load. Returned

Hopefully Microsoft will be able to fix this quickly.

 

I am aswell having the exact same issue with mine. I have not dug deeper , yet. but I do plan it.

 

There are a lot of us having this issue. I have talked to Microsoft on numerous occasions about this. Hopefully, it will be fixed in the next patch. It should be out in the next few weeks. Lovin the 4k gaming though.

 

Just bought an xbox one s last week and am having this problem already certain blu ray movies are not playing. Play perfectly fine on 6 year old £20 blu ray player no problem. Was on live chat with microsoft yesterday for nearly two hours to only come to
the conclusion that the discs are not compatible even though they are either region free or correct region was so *** off as i had sold my ps4 and samsung uhd player to have this all in one system. Does anyone know if this will be fixed other wise i will be
going back to my old set up at my own expense because i dont want an inferior system.

Specific movies? Really? Are you kidding? I tested this with around 100 blu-ray collection. All faulty when trying to run on xbox 1s. How is this even a question?

Look into your blu ray software or test the hardware internally. But do not ask a question about specific movies. That makes you look unprofessional. My PlayStation 3 plays all of them, it is more than 4y old. How is that possible?

 

Is there still a known issue with the blu ray app? I see a Xbox Live alert for it...and I've seen a lot of posts about the 4K/UHD issue, but I am just trying to watch regular blu rays...and it just will not work.

 

Every bluray I have (one 4k UHD Bluray and dozens of regular bluray titles) does not work with the Xbox One S I have. They work just fine in my other Xbox One (regular 500gb, not S or elite XBO, and obviously not the 4k UHD bluray) but every time I get an
HDCP error for 5 minutes flipping between the error screen and bluray app frozen, then it just tells me it cannot read the disc. Apparently the Xbox One S needs a different bluray app than the regular Xbox One bluray app. Maybe if the community was allowed
to make a bluray app for the Xbox One S it could save Microsoft some face since I have more faith in the community at fixing a problem via their own bluray app than Microsoft fixing it.

My Xbox One S has a wifi failure(the module just gave up). What kind of manufacturer builds something like this? First not reading regular Blu-ray discs properly now wifi is gone. What is this console? Feels like my old fake Terminator(yellow cartridge)
consoles from 1990-s. Those started to malfunction after 3 months of operation.

I am sending the console for repairs. It will be back in about 2.5 weeks. Which gives me about 3 days to ebay it and get a Playstation4 Pro (on release date) and a dedicated Blu-ray player(Panasonic is releasing a new one in less than a month)

I will, of course, keep my old Xbox one at least I had no issues with that one since day one of purchase/release(Have a day one edition)

I agree with you well said. I did everything possible, and all what was said above to do. I still have issues. Movie still breaks in 2 when watching. freezes at times....It has nothing to do with regular Blu ray or 4K one. Its the X box 1S that has a
serious problem playing movies.

MICORSOFT FIX YOUR DAMN PROBLEM. I SHOULD OF NEVER BOUGHT THIS MACHINE. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE OF THE 4K PLAYBACK OF 4K MOVIES.....GAMES WE HAVE NO ISSUES...
