Sorry OP but I am not seeing anything of a "bait and switch".

 

ElectroFlying, no argument here. Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Apple and a few others have headquarters here. It's so they don't have to pay taxes in America.

There are people talking about a Brexit already as people are starting to think that living under the iron thumb of the EU is not a good idea.

Back on topic, I do not see this situation as a bait and switch.

Back to topic: OP. rent a known good 4k TV for a week and see if the X1-s performs on it as advertized. If not then you'll know for sure that it's the console.

 

^ And how is a good 4K tv going to prove anything if there's no 4K content to show on it? which is what the OP is complaining about.

 

Xbox aside, most Smart 4K TVs with Netflix, Amazon Prime have shed loads of 4K/HDR content.

I think at the moment to get use from Xbox Slim you need to get the physical discs, here it's brilliant and probably the cheapest good quality HDR player I've seen on sale

Games wise, well we shall see. I believe the first HDR supported game is the basketball title NBA 2K17, shortly after Forza Horizon 3. Some saying the difference will be big, others tiny. Apparently Xbox Slim is already giving old XB1 titles a performance
boost but I'm not in the position to run a comparison and neither would I lol

Again gameplay first, if it comes with eye watering visuals then bonus

 

So let's see... OP is apparently a backer, or proponent of Apple, to the point of knowing detail about their stock value, points out how they "dont need antivirus, and do everything better then MS. MS is a fossil of the 80s now."

In addition to that, OP is apparently *confident enough with his knowledge of UHD (and capacity to learn), to know more than some will ever know about it.

Just have to wonder how it's possible that someone with so much savvy and knowledge about this tech and UHD would fail to have the knowledge about what, and how much, content would be available on a gaming console he purchased. I mean it's obvious from the
knowledge of Apple's stock that he's able and willing to do some research.

I find it hard to believe that those who are willing to do an appropriate amount of research on a feature that's obviously important to them, would get caught up in a "bait n switch". Especially... especially considering the feature is both new enough, technologically,
to not be a universal standard as of yet, in addition to being offered on a device from a company so inferior that it's a "fossil of the 80s now."

Genchy, read back on page 1 where someone suggested the OP may have an "outdated tv."

 

^ the OP clearly states the Xbox Netflix app doesn't support 4K which is his cause for complaint. No model of 4K TV is going to change that. Try reading his first sentence....

 

by chance do you have the 4 screen 4k content Netflix plan. It costs a bit more than the standard one
