Xbox One S audio cuts out for a second every 30 minutes when 4K resolution selected.

I'm having this same issue with an LG E6 OLED as well.

 

Having this issue with 4k discs. The audio loss for about 4 seconds and then stutters briefly. Happening every 30 minutes into a movie

 

fugettaboutit77 says he got an update to his LG and Xbox One S that fixed this issue. I'm in the preview program and haven't gotten the update. Also haven't gotten an update to the LG either...

 

An update on my issue...

I downloaded an update to my LG G6 OLED from the LG website because my TV said no updates available.

After the update, xbox said my tv didn't support 3D. I reset the xbox since i didn't have anything on it yet. That fixed the 3D not supported issue.

Installed and launched Netflix and when it tried to switch into HDR, I'd get alternating black screen and no signal. I played with the xbox settings and switched color to 12-bit.

I seem to be good right now. I'll want to test a bit longer before I say for sure.

 

I'm having the exact same issue, and apparently others are as well. MS, please fix this!

 

Hi guys I have the same problem audio cuts out when gaming for 1 sec when using 4kuhd on Xbox one s I have a lg oled c6p also when playing destiny there is a flickering in the picture it goes away after switching the Xbox one s to 1080p and back to 4uhd
but comes back very few days i hope they fix this !!!

 

Chomsky - I am in the same boat as you, no new updates for LG Oled TV or Xbox S, none are currently available. I am still experiencing the issue.

 

I have exactly the same issue which has been driving me mad. I've also found the issue is resolved by turning off HD deep colour. Another solution is to use an optical connection direct to an amp from Xbox one s instead of using the HDMI for audio as this
also resolves the issue. This is hardly ideal as it's obviously a firmware issue between the Xbox one S and LG TVs. I have an LG 65UF95 4k TV.

 

Thanks@ bonovox ! Not ideal but at least I'm not losing sound. I was about to chuck the whole beautiful box in the trash!! MS must fix this very soon!! And now my surround is always on. But again thanks for the suggestion!

 

I got an update on my LG which is an UH8500. This update fixed the issue. No update on Xbox One S so that suggests it's an LG problem and not an Xbox issue...Bombard LG with this, it appears to be their fault...

 

I have the LG UH850v and there is no update available but i have the same sound issue, where did you get the update from as we have the same tv

 

This is now fixed with the latest LG update which came out about a week ago.

 

I have also experienced this issue (momentary audio drop during video every 30-45 minutes or so). This has been happening for a few years (for me) on both the XBox One since 2013 & continues on with my XBox One S.

I have become used to it, though, it is still annoying. I have experienced this regardless of video content, though it is more noticeable during the dialogue of a movie or TV show. I have had new AVR boxes, cables and the TV itself, so I became convinced
this

is an issue with the XBox itself. It happens on the TV App, Tablo, YouTube, anything that is streaming or running video. It's almost like there is a buffer that eventually tops out, and picks back up immediately.

I've read some saying it is related to 4K viewing, but I now have an LG OLED with HDR, but this issue pre-dates my 4K TV. I don't run audio through the TV anyway - not all the time anyway. Doesn't make a difference.

Since XBox has not fixed this with a software update, that makes me believe it is a hardware issue that continued on even to the XBox One S. Hopefully the Scorpio will have better hardware for audio memory.

 

Having the same issue with a Samsung TV 2016 model.

 

Same issue here with Xbox One and Xbox One S, on games, Blu-rays and Netflix. Dropouts coming more often on high datarates. So Dolby Atmos gives me dropouts every 30 to 60 seconds when.
