Xbox One S and Sonos dd5.1

Discus and support Xbox One S and Sonos dd5.1 in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have sonos 5.1 in my front room and this worked fine with my Original Xbox One using bitstream output.     Xbox One S and Sonos dd5.1


    I have sonos 5.1 in my front room and this worked fine with my Original Xbox One using bitstream output. But now with my new Xbox One S I can't get any audio output when setting the xbox to output over bitstream.

    Any indication when and if this will be supported/enabled on the Xbox One S?

    The Xbox One currently doesn't support DD5.1 via optical or HDMI

    Surround sound has been fixed?

    Not on my xbox.. Sonos set up still only receiving stereo from the xbox one....

    How old are your systems that only support Dd5.1 i would have thought it would be standard on home theaters to have Dts as well as Dd5.1 i got a home theater when Playstation 2 came out that supported both and bought another on boxing day and it supports
    both .

    Optical Out - What is it for??

    Eggnogga, I asked the question because a next gen console is not all about backwards compatibility and to me optical out is rather antiquated and incapable of the CURRENT High Definition sound formats made possible by Blu-Ray.

    To answer another point raised, Home Theatre setups that are capable of HD sound utilising HDMI have been around for some years now so IMHO optical is unnecessary & redundant on a next gen console. Even the 360 can readily supply DD5.1 via HDMI.

    I for one am expecting better than DD5.1 for gaming sound from the XBox One.
