XBOX ONE S and KINECT CYCLING ON AND OFF

Hi

Recently received my adaptor to use my Kinect with my new xbox one S however when all plugged in the Kinect keeps cycling on and off in around 5 second intervals - any ideas or just faulty adaptor?

What version of the Xbox One is it:? The first Xbox One? Or is it an Xbox One X or Xbox One S? Does it have a Kinect attached?

The Xbox One X and Xbox One S have an IR Blaster built into the device that it can use to turn on/off the TV or other devices when you power on your console. For the original Xbox One it uses the Kinect for that, if it's hooked up. So if you go to Settings
> TV & OneGuide > Devices that page has the options and details on what your Xbox is doing to try and manipulate the television. Those are the settings that would likely be causing what you're seeing. Make sure the TV brand is set correctly, that it's not
sending two power signals, if the TV doesn't need it, and a few other options.

 

Kinect won't stay ON

My Kinect turns on during Xbox power up, but shortly after will proceed to flicker ON and OFF (white logo LED turns ON/OFF and video feed in the Kinect setup prompt dissapears and reappears). The period of this power "flickering" typically varies. I've seen
it as short as every 10 seconds to ~30hr. Most times it will end up just shutting off for good until I power cycle the Xbox. When this happens the Kinect does not respond to voice commands or gestures, though it will sometimes still be able to control the
TV channel via the OneGuide app.

Things I've tried: power cycling both Xbox and Kinect, verifying stable mechanical connection, removing mechanical stress on the cable at both ends, disconnecting and reconnecting Kinect from Xbox, re-running Kinect setup, console updates.

I have the original, non Day One, Xbox One with Kinect running all the latest software to date. I'm convinced this is a latent hardware issue. Please help!
