xbox one s all digital has extremely bad lag

OK so i bought my girlfriend an Xbox one s all digital edition for her birthday/Christmas last year. when we got it home and tried to play on it however immediately it started to lag on every game we tried. i didn't believe her at first when she told me
until i started playing on it my self but when i did it was very bad, not just some "oh i lagged a bit its gotta just be bad connection" no, on apex it was rubber-banding every 20 seconds or so making it basically unplayable. on overwatch it would just walk
you off a ledge or in a random direction for no reason. so I've tried everything i can think of even calling Microsoft support to have it replaced by the warranty but they advised not doing that saying they'd just send me back the console if they found nothing
mechanically wrong with it. so following his advice i unplugged both my router and Xbox for a period of time and turned them back on. this fixed the problem for maybe 5 minutes. i then did some research and found out someone with a similar issue fixed there
problem by changing the mac address on there console. i changed the mac address and this seemed to fix the problem for like a day or 2. but now its back to lagging excessively and neither me or my girlfriend want to play on the thing. so in conclusion does
anyone have any idea why the console is lagging so badly and how i can stop it from happening going forward?

I sell my original xbox and buy a all digital right now and yes i'm experiencing same issue and that's why i searched it. last game i played on my original xbox was halo 5 and i started with halo 5 and i experienced a lot of lag like for 5 seconds i hpe
it was for my poor connection not the hardware. and also it disconnected from internet with noooooo reason which i never had before.

try doing a console reset so the game updates and licencing can fix itself.

Hi there. Are you using wifi or a wired connection?

Since both games you mention are online multiplayer, could it be her internet connection? Does the lag happen with single player games?

Sorry to hear about your wifi woes. Since your latency and connection speed seems fine when you run a network test, can you validate that you get the same DNS servers when you're wired that you get when you're on wifi? Also, does your gateway segregate
your wifi network from your wired network? Do you have any issues using smartglass while on wifi?

This modem had issues with Xbox 360 slim and for the most part people had to switch their wifi to use AES authentication only, i'm not sure if this is the same issue on XB1. Do you know what type of authentication you have on your wifi?

You may want to contact Comcast support and see if they have any recommendations. Some users have reported firmware updates for their TG862G fixing some issues, others have disabled DHCP and went static IP and fixed their issues and also disabling TKIP and
going AES fixed some issues on 360S.

My personal experience with ATT Uverse is that i setup my XBOX 1 with a static IP and use google DNS 8.8.8.8 and most of my problems with network performance have gone away.
