Xbox One S All Digital Edition "Disc to Digital Program"

So after reading online about the console that replaced my faulty one (thanks microsoft for that!) I found some articles talking about a planned disc to digital program. Does anyone know if this is in the works because I've got hundreds of dollars in discs
that are useless now, some of which are over $50 on microsoft store without a sale. I shouldn't have to pay for all of these games again just because microsoft can't use reliable motherboards.

Also, just a little extra touch, when my first xbox one was brought to a local console repair store, they stole my copy of far cry 5 from the disc drive MARVELOUS

You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

There is no program to transfer a physical copy of the game to a digital copy. When you put the disc in it installs the game to the hard drive, as is necessary, but does not make that a digital copy. It still requires the disc and verification to play.
So if you have a new console, then you will need to use the disc to install the games on the new console, and continue to use that disc to play. If you have an all digital and there is no disc, then I would see if you could still return the console to get
one that has a disc drive, or look at purchasing digital titles or downloading free titles such as Fortnite on the Xbox One S All Digital edition.

Disc-based games will not work on the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. However, all digital games can be transferred to the new device. If you have a library of disc-based games, you would need to purchase an Xbox One family device with an optical disc
drive.

No, my parents had to replace it, they bought it and told me not to try selling the games because they thought I could still use them

PC users don't come reply saying to switch to PC, money IS the issue here, so a $600 PC to play at 1080p medium is out of the question
