Wrong, it's here now... DirecTV has been broadcasting live sporting events in 4k for months now.

If you think all programs are in 4K. Show me that WWE is going LIVE in 4k on both RAW and SMACKDOWN.

Hello all,

I am using a Sony XBR65X810C with no passthrough device.

The problem I was having was that I thought my TV was capable of more than what it was showing in the 4K Settings screen.

So I did some research...

This is what I would recommend that everyone does if they are having issues:

Check out this spec sheet from xbox.com:

support.xbox.com/.../4k-on-xbox-one-s-technical-requirements

This spec sheet tells you exactly what specs your TV needs in order to Upscale in 4K, play movies and games in 4K etc...

Now that you have the specs needed, go to the following website: rtings.com. Up at the top right there should be a search bar. Try searching for your model of 4K TV. Hopefully, you'll find your model. Once you find your model, scroll down to the Supported
Resolutions section. Here you will find whether or not your TV supports 4K at 30 HZ or 60 HZ. It should say yes or no. If it says yes it should state how to enable these on your TV. For example, I had to go to the Home menu, External Inputs, and then Enhance
HDMI. I then was able to display the settings that I thought I should have been getting before.

TLR Your TV may have a setting to turn on specific 4K settings such as 4K @ 60 HZ.

having same issues, when i click on 4K the tick appears but I click on UHD but it doesn't do anything, then once I go to 4K details no green ticks appear just errors saying my tv is not showing as 4K etc.... hitting brick wall..... perhaps an update is to
be released to fix?

I don't think anyone said "all programs" are in 4k... There are however some providers broadcasting some 4k content.

Xbox One S has a 1080p output for this game with HDR. You TV upscale input video signal to 4K, if it not a 4K or less.

Internet Expert

Some 4K TVs with multiple HDMI inputs may only truly output 4K with select ports. It may be one of the HDMI ports of the whole set, or several. Consult your TV manual for those exact details.

For 4K output, the Xbox One S must be connected to a port that supports 4K at 60Hz, with HDCP 2.2.

Try out the different ports on your TV with your Xbox until you are able to set 4K as your resolution in the display settings.

If its a glitch then not a good start (although hopefully something that can be patched), spoke to advisor yesterday but they weren't receptive to the issue at all. Would be interested if anyone has managed to use a 4k device via HDMI in (passthrough) yet.

If you're having troubles with the advanced 4K screen saying that you pretty much won't be doing anything with 4K, then you may have to fiddle with HDMI input settings on your TV. I have the XBR43x830c, and in order for it to display that I could play games,
watch movies, and all that, I had to go into my HDMI input settings and change the HDMI input for the Xbox to enhanced or something like that. Once I had done that, I was all green save for HDR, which my TV doesn't support.
