Xbox One S 4K Output/Input

I was using a 10 metre high speed cable, when using supplied cable it worked fine, just not long enough for my setup though, hoping they patch some of the settings soon.

 

Some TV will have the res on the HDMI port. I only have one 2.0 port on my 4kTV. Just only one. Other is older version of the HDMI port. And my XBOX ONE I have now is on it.. But it not the S.

 

If you're having troubles with the advanced 4K screen saying that you pretty much won't be doing anything with 4K, then you may have to fiddle with HDMI input settings on your TV. I have the XBR43x830c, and in order for it to display that I could play games,
watch movies, and all that, I had to go into my HDMI input settings and change the HDMI input for the Xbox to enhanced or something like that. Once I had done that, I was all green save for HDR, which my TV doesn't support.

 

4k passthrough is definitely not working. I've tried 3 different devices that output 4k and none get through the Xbox One S. Totally bummed here...

 

Anyone raised this with Microsoft? I have confirmation via chat that it would support it prior to purchase.

 

It might be a glitch on this batch of S modals.

 

If its a glitch then not a good start (although hopefully something that can be patched), spoke to advisor yesterday but they weren't receptive to the issue at all. Would be interested if anyone has managed to use a 4k device via HDMI in (passthrough) yet.

 

Since this not a normal upscale chip found on the old XBOX ONE. This make for 4k video. So it might be the program is glitch. So something like and encoded chip. It hard to patch with current system. Unless the special dashboard is the one glitch. It
the chip itself. They have to find it and patch master copy. And then printed it on newer batch of S modals. But it depends where that glitch is at. chip = replacement when they fit the chip's encoded SOFT WARE. Or push the patch to the OS. If on the OS
side of things. there two things that can be glitch here. You might just take it and leave it responds to this. Until MS have take time to find what glitch and how they have to do to fix it.

 

There's no upscaling needed, it just needs to pass through. It doesn't need to do a *** thing to the signal. It irks me that Microsoft hasn't said one word about it at all...

 

MICROSOFT, PLEASE FIX THE HDMI PASS THROUGH 4K ISSUE!!!!!!! Not having 4K capability with my DIRECTV satelite box severely limits the capabilities that make the xbox one so great.

 

There is no 4k TV broadcasting yet. it years way from now.

 

UHD broadcasting has started so this should be supported, Microsoft don't seem to be interested in this issue. Has anyone else reached out to them yet, if so what kind of response have you had?

Also has anyone managed to get anything 4k/UHD to passthrough yet?

what UHD broadcasting is there? most broadcasting is 720P or 1080i still.

 

Sky in the UK can broadcast certain content in 4K.

Nothing in the States yet.

However, Netflix and Blu-Ray 4K looks amazing on the One S.

 

DIRECTV has started broadcasting 4K content. For example the Rio Olympics is broadcast on a channel and there are a few others...I have the new Genie HR54 reciever with two 4K mini clients.
