Xbox one S 4K not recognizing 4K capabilities through Sony BDV-N9200W

Just got an Xbox one S and a Sony BDV-N9200W home theatre system with the hope of running everything through the receiver. My issue is that when I run the Xbox through the receiver it wont recognize the 4K capabilities. It will work if I plug direct into
TV but I want to try and get it to work through the receiver. I have been through all the settings on the TV, Xbox and receiver without any luck. Am I missing something obvious here? Why cant I just plug in and utilize 4K when all devices are 4K capable? I
have also tried swapping HDMI cords but they all work when going straight from Xbox to TV, issues only when bringing the receiver into the mix. Please help, is driving me crazy!

    :)

Never mind, swapping the HDMI ports did the trick and switching the receiver to mode 1.

Hey BluWolve! What model receiver are you using? Double check and make sure it's firmware is fully up to date as that can cause some issues. Post back and let me know!

Xbox One S not recognizing full 4K capabilities through 4K AV receiver

My TV doesn't support HDR at all but it is 4k capable. I have tried having the XBOX One S directly connected to the TV and through the receiver with no luck getting anything 4k out of the One S.

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

The Xbox One S is able to output at 120hz 1080p but no games will run above 60fps. The One S can recognize 120Hz displays but unless someone actually codes a game for the One S that can actually run at 120fps, that capability is almost useless.

Just like 4k resolution - the One S can recognize 4k displays and render Netflix videos at that resolution but not one single game is actually able to render at 4k.

The original Xbox One has no 4K capabilities, but the Xbox One S and Xbox One X can stream video and play games in 4K, but not watch movies in 4K.

    Xbox One S doesn't recognise 4K compatibility on a 4K projector

But their problem is that it's not recognizing that the display is 4k capable, not that it's not playing games in 4k. In the Display Settings it has the options for checking if your TV is 4k compatible, and that is showing the display is not capable when
it is. Debating what can and cannot play in 4k via the One S is not the issue.

@KayKay Lavan thanks for posting the make and model. I'll search and see if there is anything I can find for that, or dig up some other troubleshooting steps.
